September 25, 20205 yr https://www.flightsimulator.com/september-24th-2020-development-update/ But more important than the outstanding DLC is the commitment of ASOBO to keep updating MSFS every month.. 12 months from now this is going to be on a whole new level.. So happy finally having a new sim.. This is like nothing we ever had.. I’m aware of the several bugs but.. Perfection comes with imperfection but most importante practice.. So as long as Asobo doesn’t forget of MSFS we are in the correct path.. I really need that RTX3090 now.. When is VR gonna be avaible..?
September 25, 20205 yr Great to see your optimism for the next 12 months. 12 months from now it may very well be on the same level. If perfection comes from imperfection I sure don't see it with this development team. 1 step forward 2 steps backwards is hardly improving anything. We are 6 weeks in which is 1-1/2 months. They have broken more then they have fixed.
September 25, 20205 yr OP, I agree with you 100%. The future looks very bright! 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

September 25, 20205 yr Yes we have a new sim "like nothing we ever had". Well I would rather be able to fly the aircraft. I have watched tutorials on you tube, and still have problems flying the aircraft the way the authors do. 12 months from now is quite a time to wait after paying £110. The sim will undoubtedly be the best ever...at some point, but there are several things I'm not happy with. The lack of a manual for a start. Even PDF's require the services of a technical writer and all the work required to build a manual with the exception of the actual printing costs. This is a budget line item that many companies have scrapped. And we can thank the internet for that. Back when MSFS had 200 page manuals included, there was no internet. Heck, when I played FS2, I was lucky to be involved in a local BBS that I dialed in at 300bps. The internet has changed that. We now have mountains of information available a short google search away. So software publishers say "why bother?" Someone will make a youtube video, or someone will download a manual for the G1000. Do I like it? Heck no. But for MS and others, it all boils down to cost analysis. In the age of the internet, a lack of a manual does not adversely affect sales, so it is seen as an unnecessary expense. Edited September 25, 20205 yr by wthomas33065
September 25, 20205 yr OP, first, if you are truly new and nobody has said so already, welcome to the forum! September 25, 20205 yr Appalling reply to the OP in the second post. A fairly new forum member comes here with a bit of optimism and somebody replies like that. 🙄 Welcome SUNDR1V3R! 👍 It is an exciting prospect. I think one year on it will be a much better proposition. This is just a start and it shows loads of promise for sure. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). September 25, 20205 yr Yes it is exciting especially an area I feel that has been under-represented in FS in the past. There are some bugs for sure but I hope you continue to enjoy the simulator. Edited September 25, 20205 yr by pjs37

You do not really need a 3090. The 3080/20GB will be optimal and the 3070 Super 16GB all most people need.

The PFDs and FMS on that plane are closer to an airliner. No Garmin here How the hell does this thing work? I don't want to have to go watch hours of youtube videos (many of which are wrong or misinformed, because no one has told us what parts of the aircraft are actually supposed to be modeled) to hop into a new aircraft. The lack of a manual in a simulation product is inexcusable no matter what is currently going on with other software. AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals

You won't get disagreement from me. I was simply commenting on the state of the industry. Bottom line, Does a lack of a manual negatively impact sales? Would the inclusion of a manual positively impact sales to pay for the cost of developing it? NO? Then it is an unnecessary expense. It is what it is.

It seems you were expecting to read a manual for 5 mins and then fly the CJ4. Not going to happen even with the best written manual. It is going to take hours to learn to fly the CJ4. This is a simulation not an on rails arcade game.
