And I'm sure they will, because I don't think for a second Asobo are trying to force people to "learn to fly for a change". . I guess it was more an off topic thought about flying online, rather then what the sim should have working for users.

I's a month till the big sim update, but hopefully they fix some of the actual bugs sooner in the next update early October. October 1, 20205 yr How in the heck do you break the VFR map? I still don't understand how they can release updates with a ton of flaws. Literally every update I'm holding my breathe because certain parts of the sim stop working or change drastically. I love this sim, support the team but this is getting ridiculous.

I may be wrong, but my impression is it is not just a question of documentation, it is that in many cases the content that 3PD's need has not even been fully coded yet. That's my impression as well.

Thanks ASOBO / Microsoft bs Many keep saying that "we didn't have anything like this is any other sim", bold claims, 100% wrong as well as most of the "never seen before in any other simulator".

We're like years in, everything else is being fixed, all this completely useless flight model stuff and eye candy, but no mention of HIBERNATING BEARS!!! What a complete mess. I'm going back to FS9.
October 1, 20205 yr He said himself that they overstretch with the patch frequency since launch, and they need another cadenze. They didn't have time to test all the fixes. October 1, 20205 yr Commercial Member Maybe we should start an appreciation thread for the Asobo developers. There's so much toxicity and entitlement on the internet these days reading that stuff must just wear them down. In spite of its bugs (which are inevitable), the new Flight Simulator represents a 100 fold improvement over P3D/FSX in my view. I think what people fail to realize when they bought FS2020 is that they didn't just buy into a game, they bought into a 10 year project. I empathise greatly with both of them. Don't burn yourselves out guys. You know this industry and that you'll never satisfy everyone. Put the vocal minority in perspective. “When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: the people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous and surly. They are like this because they can't tell good from evil. But I have seen the beauty of good, and the ugliness of evil, and have recognized that the wrongdoer has a nature related to my own - not of the same blood and birth, but the same mind, and possessing a share of the divine. And so none of them can hurt me. No one can implicate me in ugliness. Nor can I feel angry at my relative, or hate him. We were born to work together like feet, hands and eyes, like the two rows of teeth, upper and lower. To obstruct each other is unnatural. To feel anger at someone, to turn your back on him: these are unnatural.” Marcus Aurelius
October 1, 20205 yr A mixed feeling. If there was any doubt (I hadn't any), we saw that MS is the boss as far as operational and strategic choices are concerned and Asobo is just the technical implementer. And being here since the beginning, I have grown very sceptical about what Neuman can say. My take from the session : A very good news : they seem serious about improving the terrain mesh, a major issue for me. A bad news. Nothing about flight and engine modelling of any aircraft. The pretty well documented flawed turboprop engine logic, was thus not discussed. A pet peeve of mine but not only, 6th in the bug list ! Interestingly enough I proposed such a question to the Q&A which was not deemed relevant by the moderator. Had a laugh when Neuman said at the beginning that the focus was on core simmers. An open question : will the VR module be entirely separated from the main sim ? To be downloaded only by those who want it (like Japan) and not be forced upon all the users ? I fear the worst in the second case. October 1, 20205 yr Overall, I found the Q&A positive. But I do find it odd that on the one hand he said they thought to leave complex aircraft to third parties instead of treading on toes, but at the same time the SDK is not useable for the complexity of aircraft that we ultimately want. The PMDG timeline has been pushed out by a year. Other than that, I'm happy with the general enthusiasm shown by Jorg. He seems alot less resistant to ideas in general these days than he was a few months before the launch. He is obviously a flightsimmer himself and that is important for everyone. Most of items on those lists seem to be on a 'to do' list. What is quite interesting is if you read these forums as often as we do, you often see people second- guessing MS/Asobo motives, intentions, plans and very often people inject their own interpretation of the MS 'grand plan' and state it as fact. Then others start believing it and this place becomes a snake pit of venom. Then , whenever the Q&A happens, MS/Asobo, completely dispel the Avsim myths and everybody is calm and positive again. In a few days time the negativity will creep back and everyone will be tied up in knots again, and so it shall be for a while yet. I'm not concerned about bugs or lack of features today or next week or even next month. I'm happy to give it a year. There is alot to enjoy in this sim for a while yet. It has completely changed the way I fly and use my sim and I have not had this much enjoyment in a sim for many years. I am prepared to wait it out and enjoy my time while I do with what there is (and there is alot of it) Edited October 1, 20205 yr by ErichB

I think what people fail to realize when they bought FS2020 is that they didn't just buy into a game, they bought into a 10 year project. Expecting complete perfection in a V1.0 release is not realistic. Buyers are indeed entitled (your word) to have the product that has been touted by MS for 14 months or close enough. Some think they have, some think they don't. I think like many we are not yet here. BTW I do not see anything about a ten-year project on the product home page where you buy. Bugs are one thing. But some major issues are not bugs but choices from the team like the flawed turboprop logic seemingly pasted from FSX, the voluntarily dumbing down of the G1000 which was confessed yesterday by Neuman, the obvious insufficient work on autopilots, the absence of watermasks that are included in their Asia and Africa vids (sort of false advertising). There are toxic threads, one is running on Avsim right now initiated by a troll (are we in a best or worst place). But there is also a need for robust criticisms. It is because people have loudly voiced their displeasure at the way that the G1000 is implemented that MS has decided to do better. Is MSF a 100 fold improvement over P3D ? Doesn't make sense to me as a simmer. The new sim shows indeed a lot of much better stuff in the lighting, weather and scenery departments. Not yet in the aircraft. And a sim is whole. There is a lot of promises, that I agree. But we won't get this promises becoming features with the "Don't worry, be happy" philosophy. There is a middle road between trolling and gullibility. Let us be demanding simmers. Nothing toxic about that.
