Based on their reaction to allow 3rd party weather add-ons, I don't think this is their priority at all. Have a feeling that they want weather to be one of the key sellers of the platform.

Most important thing I heard here - "based on the community feedback, I'm changing my mind", with respect to the G1000 level of detail.

Switching over to top bugs now.

Going to write update of where everything is at in future feedback snapshots to better track issues.

(1) Accurate taxiway names / signage updates (not world update)

They really seem to go in as bugs & have a team that fixes airports (700+ airports fixed in world update). They want feedback to get things addressed...

I heard them talk about fixing airports, but they seemed to ignore the question about using accurate taxiway names and having better signage.

I think they realize that the Garmins need some love. At the same time, they'd welcome Reality-XP and Flight1 to the game, for those looking at realism.

What about starting the session with:

instaed of mentioning the draw distance issue during the last minute of the session?

Probably just how they decided to format the stream. Since it's a Q&A, it would be preferable to focus on answering community questions first, and also Sebastian said that he had only just caught up with some of the bug reports (and being the CEO of Asobo, that's probably not his full-time job). It didn't look like they came completely prepared for this.

(7) NavBlue & Charts+

Agreement is to get new nav data every 28 days. They put it into the next update that they are publishing (update 2 is the first that had an update). Next update will come mid October.

Guess I'll be sticking with Navigraph. Sounds like we will be at least halfway through each data cycle before it is installed in the sim. I wish the moderator had picked up on that and asked why they couldn't just incorporate it automatically when they receive it from NavBlue.

My personal opinion is that with most aircraft coming new with glass cockpits of some form, we should have a higher expectation of the default sim glass, it should cover what 90% of people need.

At least some of them seemed to have disappeared...😄

Looks like hifi sim won’t be going anywhere fast too. They said they’re really excited to see third party devs do add on study level planes. But when it came to weather, they seems content on keeping it locked down. And making it the best it can be.
Suits me. The less running alongside the sim, the better.

I just renewed my yearly subscription. So I'm good for a while. They did mention NavBlue navdata and charts were coming.

This is my take in the weather subject among other things . With FS2020 i want to walk away from having other software running alongside the sim so I’ll be more than happy to wait and see what they do with the weather in the future...

If MeteoBlue really get involved, it could make other weather addons obsolete.

Being able to see other players flying around would get really screwing if half the player base was using different weather ad-ons.

They stayed away from making a study level airliner to avoid hurting third parties.

They felt the same way about the Garmin / G1000 at first, but now they're thinking based on community feedback that they might need to go all the way and make it as good as possible.

They *have* to do this.  This FS2020 doesn't have one single good navigation system other than VOR to VOR...to pre-GPS days.  XPlane, by comparison, has G1000 (accurate, with VNAV, VNAV direct, ATK offset, activate leg and more), GNS530, GNS430 plus everything offered by Reality XP.  If they don't do something they're going to have a whole lot of crippled, half-baked GA just, more or less, wandering around...none of them on VATSIM.
