Nexus mods have one for free. Nowhere near 40 presets - but it is free.

Hi Glenn,

I tried those presets and they did not work with the MSFS version.

I got the payware version and I'm very happy with the purchase. I highly recommend the WPP themes pack.

MSFS

I downloaded the free nexusmods and they are working just fine for me.

you probably put them in the wrong folder.

The freeware works fine on my MSFS as well

Working fine for me, and I too have the Game Pass version. Just note you have to install them in the right place, as per the instructions.

That place is NOT the community folder.

The non-steam version requires the free presets to go here:

drive:\{Flight sim directory}\{Some GUID-like number}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator{another GUID-like number}\LocalState\Weather\Presets

Quite the archaic path, isn't it?

(Now that I'm reviewing this, I'm not sure it is even useful. I'll post anyway...)

I bought them from ORBX.

I like supporting developers.

They look great, I even had a sand storm in NH. Right after a snowstorm.

These will make it really fast to set up a tricky IFR procedure or a beautiful VFR flight if real WX is not what you feel like flying in. That is often the case though most of the time I like real WX. I like the presets a lot.

I purchased this morning. No reason not to use both them and the free ones......

Thanks for the suggestions.

Initially I followed the readme, then check the theme options in MSFS and they showed up, but when I selected each one at a time, they all showed up as foggy conditions. I figured that maybe they were installed in the wrong folder.

I deleted them and this morning I bought from ORBX and installed the payware version and I'm very happy with the results.

Best regards.

MSFS

I just bought it and installed using the Orbx installer. It installs within Orbx folders not the MSFS weather\presets\

so I am unable to use any of these presets.

edited to add: I went to Orbx and did an uninstall and reinstalled I now I see a whole lots of weather presets.

OK I took the airbus from KIAH (Houston) to KDFW (dallas) and used preset 0 visibility and took off on the Airbus 320 Neo and approached to land on 18R ILS at 200 feet on approach I could see nothing and let the AP take me down further like in Cat 1 landing and at 50-40 feet I disabled the AP to flare and I then saw the runway.. Landed nicely.

Enjoyed it

What It doesn't have which I need is to do the same for non precision approaches like VOR approach or NDB approach.. where 0 visibility would not do. I need 1 mile, 2 mile and 3 mile visibility and I am not seeing anything here for those.

And yes. I have the freeware which provides many of the same things. But for 8 bucks having 40 preset I think is ok.  I would recommend addd these 40 to the 10 or freeware presets and we have a good set. Except for the 1,2 and 3 mile visibility which I don't think is possible unless Asobo fixes the viability range thingi and they have acknowledged it that they have it on their to do list.
