November 20, 20205 yr I think Microsoft Flight Simulator is the OBVIOUS winner in this category. It should be game of the year, and I am sure it will win many awards in the coming months. A huge success. Vote early. Vote often. 🙂 https://thegameawards.com/nominees 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
November 20, 20205 yr Why exactly should it be game of the year? There are at least 10 titles I've played more and spent less on then this sim. Unless, of course, you think sitting and hoping for bug fixes every week counts as fun and engaging.

November 20, 20205 yr Voted for MSFS, two reasons: 1 Wonderful sim! 2 Makes for entertaining whiners on the Avsim boards! 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
November 20, 20205 yr I browsed through the categories on that website (who entitled them to call what is "game of the year" anyway?) - and I am not sure if I would be proud if my flight simulator was to be nominated alongside those other entries... Looking at the "advisory board" https://thegameawards.com/about it also does not surprise that the entries are - ahem - pretty much limited to certain companies...incidentially the same as those represented on the advisory board, it seems to me 🤣

November 20, 20205 yr Yup, you can take any award pretty much with a pinch of salt, for example the Oscars, which are most often about how much advertising revenue and campaigning a studio does. For example, I mean really, an A lister actor gets paid millions of Dollars for basically spending a few months playing let's pretend, and then they want us to blow sunshine up their wazoo for it as well? Years ago I was actually one of the people who picked the winners of the 'advertising awards' at a daily newspaper, and I can tell you it was all just a facade where we sucked up to clients who spent the most money on advertising revenue with us, by inviting them to a junket - oops I mean 'award ceremony' - where they'd have sunshine blown up their @ss and end up with a little statue they could put in a cabinet in their company lobby.
