I was expecting a more original idea, like Indonesia, with millennial jungles and massive active volcanos or New Zealand with pacific islands

Gotta take care of the areas with the biggest FS2020 supporters first.  Japan was trying to garner support for the sim from that nation.  It might have worked.

Ooh now this I am excited for!

I hope they give some attention to our coastlines especially in the South. We are famed in this part of the world for our dramatic white chalk cliffs such as in Dover and Eastbourne, as well as the Needles on the Isle of Wight. These currently are not well represented in the sim.

Can’t say whether this is any good or not as haven’t downloaded it but if you haven’t seen this maybe of interest.

I can understand that the community needs to be satisfied, but look at this :

England :

Good news, but the south of Europe seems to be behind in the queue again, which is sad IMO.

LOL 🤣

We have some beautiful scenery though. If being in lockdown this year has taught me anything it's that.

Haha that’s got to be the harshest comparison shots I’ve ever seen... Take a look at the Lake District many parts of Scotland to name a couple.

I hope they go all out with the term UK, including all overseas territories.

Sorry, as a French I could not resist 😁

But I completely agree with you, Scotland is wonderful. I've been there, Perth and in the north, a couple of time to study english during my teen years,

Any mention of timing? I was flying over the white cliffs of Dover the other day and they were somewhat uncliffy.

Although all the freeware is going to have to be removed to rule out conflicts once the update drops I would guess.

This is pretty funny. I have done every single airport they've mentioned. And repaired Shetland which they're going to presumably do since they mentioned Out Skerries.

I cannae wait to see how they've done it differently.

I guess this is the issue developing freeware for a developing sim, occupational hazard?

Well, it's good for everyone. Shetland and the Channel Islands have upgraded features and airports so I'll just bin the terrain repairs. They'll still be an improvement for anyone interested.

As for the other ones I was looking over their new American airports last night. There are many things I would've done that they haven't. We shall see.

Time for me to disable all the freeware then to rule out conflicts 🙂

Hello all,

Well this is great news for our UK simmers and the rest of the world will simply have to be patient and accept what we are offered with these world updates.  I have accepted that I will probably not see an Australian. New Zealand update in my lifetime but so be it.  I think we should all be grateful and remember that the ORBX equivalent for England comes in three parts at USD54 (approx) each and this update is free for MSFS. How good is that. I am just hoping that the updates are at least 2015 vintage satellite passes LOL

In addressing the quoted statement, I think most of us are gathering all this freeware at a remarkable rate. The only problem is that with updates one needs to delete the Community folder and then reinstall some of the mods. Please note that I find just copying and pasting the mods back into the folder does not work for me, but may work for others, and this is par for the course with MSFS I guess. I do not know if this actually applies to the freeware sceneries and airports specifically as well.

However, I can see this can, or could, become incredibly confusing for some of us and I was wondering If it was possible to simply insert a "Mods" folder into the Community folder and put all our mods into that, so that at least we have in one place, anything that could possibly lock up or adversely affect the performance of MSFS.  I notice that there are many "folders" in the community folder itself, so an additional one, featuring, potentially many, sub-folders may, or may not have an adverse impact.

At the moment, I have, in a separate drive all my Aircraft mods which I find I have to re-install after every update, and due to this update requirement, for me, they are in one place, easily found and re-installed. I do not have any freeware or payware scenery installed as yet, but keeping track of them may become an immense problem for some of us in the future, if in fact, they do have an effect on performance etc with each update.

I have no idea if this is worth bothering with as far as the rest of the community is concerned, and, further, I have even less clues about whether or not, it is even possible.  It may however, be helpful to all of us to at least have a discussion about it. (even if it is in another thread).

Regards to all
