I notice that you did not comment on the price of this airport, which for its size and amount of work that has gone into producing it seems VERY overpriced to me compared to other better produced offerings available of other larger airports at a lower price. The second point you liked which I have to disagree with is the static people. I would prefer to see none at all as opposed to statues which look like they have frozen solid in the bitter Scottish climate. I must still thank you for going to the bother of reviewing it but after Luton, I think I shall pass on these and any other airports thrown together by this developer. I agree with some of your points particularly the pricing however, I’d rather Filbert review the airport and not the developer and do it without any prior expectations otherwise it’s easy to sound like you have an agenda. Personally I think it’s one of UK2000s better airports and showing some signs of moving in the right direction.
December 2, 20205 yr Just a heads up to any potential purchasers of this addon, i bought it at launch and whilst the scenary etc is very good, i quickly came across an issue when selecting Runway 05 ILS in the world map would result in a instant CTD, the other end for some strange reason works ok. I tried to log into the vendor's forum to advise him, but for some reason i can't, but have noticed another customer has reported the same issue. At present it does not look as if it's been sorted. It's entirely possible for sceneries that aren't even on the same continent to conflict and CTD if something's not built properly. I've seen it myself.

The guy that reported it removed he UK 2000 version. then tried the same using the default asosbo version, and no issue, he re installed the addon, same again CTD only using Runway 05 AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive
December 2, 20205 yr To be fair Gary is pretty quick on sorting issues - at least he was for my home airport EGGD. I've not checked but I assume this is another £18.48 product - when compared to ORBX Newcastle which I think is £13ish would make this a hard pill to swallow. Just tried it again, i had to reinstall it as i had removed the addon. Empty community folder , selected in world planner, selected ILS 05 boom ctd. Stranger still the other end works fine. While I don't think it's "thrown together" (although there's room for improvement for sure) i share the discomfort with the pricing by UK2000. Most developers have lowered their prices considerably for MSFS, and even the far larger and outstanding EDDK by Jo Erlend is only 70% of the price . And although I find EGPE very attractive, I'll pass on price/value considerations. I hope Gary will reconsider his business model sometime. December 2, 20205 yr Also agree with the price. Inverness is where my honeymoon started and so that airport has meaning to me, I just can’t justify the price. And I have several UK2000 airports in P3D and love his work. / CPU: Intel i7-9700K @4.9 / RAM: 32GB G.Skill 3200 / GPU: RTX 4080 16GB / Freight Pilot
December 3, 20205 yr Agree too, AU$33 for a smaller regional airport like Inverness is well outside my purchasing range, especially with so many great (and often cheaper) other offerings around. December 3, 20205 yr MSFSMP (the ENTIRE MARKET not just in game) is a new animal. People like @virtuali and @Mir // Flightbeam have learned this- and they are already at the top of the Scenery Developer strata. I own A LOT of UK2000 airports in P3D (and FSX before that) but nothing in MSFS because of their current pricing structure. If these two giants of payware scenery have figured it out, the rest ought to pay close attention. C Edited December 3, 20205 yr by cavaricooper Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
December 3, 20205 yr Author This has certainly been my most controversial review to date! I do agree that Gary should drop his prices. I wouldn't mind betting that he's come to the same conclusion by now, but it must be a tough call to make when some people have already paid.top dollar for them. At the same time, I think this is a very good add-on and I don't feel it's my place to comment on the price of good add-ons. When I think something's not very good (like UK2000's Luton) I'll comment on the price. When I think something's mediocre but very good value (like FSDT's Vancouver), I'll comment on the price then too. But for this airport, which is clearly not top-tier but, in my opinion, is very atmospheric and a good representation of the real thing, I think it should be left to the individual as to whether the price is worth it for them. 17 hours ago, Ianrivaldosmith said: You sound like Joe Lycett (Hugo Boss).
