FlyTampa Las Vegas released!

Featured Replies

I'm getting a steady 34FPS flying low and slow downtown.  I lowered my resolution to 1080p from 4k though that did the trick at 4k I was getting about 15 fps.

Just installed a patch from FT. Everything is working now. Airport and city. Good framerates as well. Great support from FT!

Flying over the city I do note one possible anomaly: An area of what looks very much like default buildings not overridden by the new scenery. They are also conspicuously unlit. Possible problem source? I can't post this on their forums, as my registration confirmation email was never received.

Where do you get the patch? I could find nothing related to the MSFS version,

Found it Thanks

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

Additional observation. Thinking about those default buildings in my picture, it occurred to me the (I think wild) idea that the scenery had possibly been designed to run only in photogrammetry mode, and might not have even been completely tested in autogen mode.

Testing this and switching over, after a short hesitation, abruptly regained me all of the missing fps... Before they dropped back down again.

Still, it might be good if someone with access to the forum passes this along as something to check.

EDIT: By the way the extra (and dark) buildings disappeared in photogrammetry mode.

All ok here now , and i was a bit surprised at the performance of my system with the A320 take off, fly over the strip, at 2k  the lowest my fps dropped to was 25fps, with a couple of stutters just before the threshold.  but most of the flight was  around 30-40 fps.and all High settings, no Ultra

Pc specs are

AMD Ryzen 7 3800x

MSI 570 Pro M Board

32gb DDR4 ram

Power Colour RX 5700XT 8gb

AData m2 nvme 1tb

The patch does not resolve the low FPS issue.

Workaround is to remove the city from the community folder.

I just tried the scenery and get 11 to 12 fps in 4K on high settings with the Savage Cub. Whilst this is a detailed addon, I have other addons that are just as complex and have as much going and get much higher fps.Normally at complex payware airports (e.g. FSDreamteam KORD) and detailed scenery addons I get 25 to 32 fps on or near the ground with the a320 neo (for example) . I have photogrammetery turned on.

There is clearly something else at play here. As someone else pointed out, the ORBX scenery KBUR had a similar issue which has recently been patched and fixed. It arose from some quirk in MSFS that large scenery's must be broken up into multiple files that are then stitched together in order for FPS not to tank .

The developer seems in a bit of denial over on the FlyTampa forums which is surprising considering their reputation. There is no way that the issue is simply about our settings being too high. There are those with the latest nvidia gtx 3080 GPUs experiencing exactly the same issue and low fps that I have with my 1080gtx. Also reducing my resolution to 2K only increased my fps to 14 fps.

I fully share your point of view and was also surprised by Emilio's / Flytampa initial reactions : https://www.flytampa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=14315

A patch addressing performance is on it's way : https://www.flytampa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=14315#p69811

Check my free MSFS sceneries : https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio/trending and my hardware configuration.

Smooth and steady 30 FPS @4K here, at the airport (nicest textures I have seen so far in a sim) and over the city, night and daytime.
It is the first time I am so impressed by MSFS' potential.
Animations add a fantastic level of realism.
Absolutely stunning work from FT!!

Thanks,

Whilst I appreciate and am sincerely glad that it is working well for you on your setup, there is clearly an issue here for other users of all setup types including the latest and greatest GPUs.

With all due respect, it somewhat undermines the issues many other users are having that are not really 'normal' and very frustrating by praising FT for their work especially when the developer has been somewhat in denial over the issue. Also, I don't recommend encouraging others to buy a scenery that clearly for many is broken. It actually facilitates encouraging poor development practices (especially in terms of user support like how the developer answered to Dillon on the FT forum).

I understand and have dealt with FT before.. 😞

Thanks

I understand Steve, and I am sorry for you and the few other users. I hope you'll get this issue sorted soon.
But I sincerely don't feel like encouraging anybody.
I assume we are all adults and one can make his own opinion after reading good and bad reviews from other folks here.
I for one am very impressed by this scenery's high level, so I feel legitimate to affirm it.
