This is really sad news. Too busy right now making sure the Bucks get a win, but I'll be back.

Well.....I think this will be how it is....now this is said with no reading on my part of any manuals/tips that may have come with the software...but when it smoothed out...I thought I was golden.  However...when I flew back over to the airport....it loaded in a bunch more stuff and proceeded to eat every kb of my puny 8GB on my poor 2070 super's board. 😞

I flew out of town and when I reached KVGT, it gave my poor 2070 enough of its memory back that it could function.  Left FPS counter is when I was in town, after flying down the strip...THEN heading to the airport....the right FPS meter is of course when I'm over KVGT.  Hope I don't need a 3090 to run it. 😞

Will start reading what other's may be finding...don't wanna not love this because it is truly stunning...and I have not even moved to night textures yet!

Same story different sim...

Have you guys checked your NVidia control panel and set low latency to Ultra.  I think the latest drivers reverted something.  Can't remember.  Not sure if this will help anyone or if it applies here.

As soon as I read about performance issues I though maybe vRAM or system RAM. This is a massive scenery. Reading through the FT forum it looks like an object file is causing CTDs. I'm sure Emilios will figure it out. I'm glad it wasn't released early this morning because I would have bought on release. I will now wait for at least the first patch and ensure fps are acceptable with both airport and city. Thanks for the feedback.

If you haven't already as was suggested in an earlier post pull the airport scenery folder out of your community folder (with the sim closed of course).  Reboot your machine and see if performance is ok.  That is what I did and my big performance issues are gone.   Easy to see the issues lie in either the airport scenery itself, or with both installed for some folks.  Its not a solution of course, but at least narrowing down the problems.  Besides...I spent 3 seconds at the airport in my Savage Cub...as long as it took to takeoff from the ramp and head to the strip. 🙂

Getting solid 30-40 frames now whereas before...10 maybe and the nausea and headache to go along with watching that for more than a minute.

EDIT: If you want to see the strip without a slideshow, try what I suggest above and let us know if it worked for you.  47FPS, very smooth, and what a shot!  (the Mirage laser beam needs to go away in the daytime though, hehe)

Steve I have the opposite.  I removed the Strip and kept the airport and now performance is back to normal.  Must be those active Vegas signs and Bellagio water animations causing the problem.

I assume that the airport must also look great. How is the performance by itself?

So far, with the v1.0, as many others I loose around -10 to -15 fps where usualy I have around 25 to 30 on dense area (hello Los Angeles). Not to mention error on taxiway signs easily correctable. At very few occasion, I found my fps back for minutes then back to roughly 10 to 15 fps.

Very first bad first impression and the first time such a thing happened with a FlyTampa product ;( Hopefuly, a updated version/fix will be released.

I love it.  The strip was a bonus so not having FT's version until they optimize it is fine with me.  Having an amazingly rendered KLAS is what I really wanted so I'm good.

Try it with the Strip excluded.  You can go into your community folder and move it to a test folder. You can keep the airport.

I’ve tried it several different ways (both strip and airport active, only one or the other, night and day) and have determined it’s those LIGHTS killing Me - I can fly smoothly around with both packages installed in the daytime even with the animations but come dusk or night performance absolutely tanks.

I even tried that freeware light package along with the photogrammetry strip and performance tanked almost as badly.

Maybe the lights can be optimized...in the meantime daylight flights only for Me.

Glad it worked out.  I'm really thinking the over 8gn cards are making the difference.  Just flew with @cavaricooper down the strip and he has both installed...was smooth for him with a 1080ti and my CPU is 3 generations ahead of his.  my 8gnb2070 super is choking on both...but gonna do some more testing....hehe..I want both at 60FPS 4k on a 55inch 4k tv and I'm not gonna stop buying hardware until I reach that goal! (I know....but I at least made you laugh right?) 🤣

From one Steve to another....what are your specs so we can narrow down if its VRAM that is killin it?

That's really what's important to the sim. The default looked hideous!

I'm confident that Emilios will come up with a performance version of the city or a way to disable some features. Devs are always pushing the envelope and sometimes forget about how important performance is to our sims.

Glad you found a compromise for now.

Strip looks amazing but fps are low. It kind of remind me ORBX KBUR. It took ORBX some time but eventually they fixed it now and now it has superb fps. Hopefully, Fly Tampa come up to optimization solution as well!
