FlyTampa Las Vegas released!

To blame these issues on the user and not the vendor is very unfair.

I though I was done, but I can't let this one go. Wrong again!

Strange how some with far better specs than my PC are having terrible fps. One thing that came to mind is i install all my addons on another m2 Nvme, and use symbotic links in the communiy folder. Could this be why some of us are having a better experiance.

I just flew down the strip at about 200ft in the cub and was still delivering over 30fps... at 1080p which still looks great

The only issue I see with this package is that most typical systems can't run both items at the same time.   It boggles the mind that some machines run it fine with both installed....but I'm thinking, like Todd mentioned, he dropped to 1080p before he got good results, maybe that is a contributing factor?

Like @DJJose mentioned, I too highly believe that the airport could have been sold for $19 on its own and would have been a great value.  The scenery is stunning, frames are great.  And like DD, sell the Vegas strip as an extra....after they worked out the performance issues when combined with the airport.

You can almost see that this may have been the original intent, or just great fore-thought to create each in its own folder instead of one huge folder.  Super simple to take one out to do your own empirical testing on your personal computer...since every one of us has different rigs and sim settings.

$19 for BOTH these great addons is just ridiculously cheap for what you're getting....just look what we were paying for scenery "back in the day"  Yep....$41 for JUST KLAX!!...worth every penny back then in that economic version of flight simming.

Lets all not start a silly war between us over simple, stupid stuff.  I advocate for giving this vendor, with a proven track record for putting out stunning stuff and good support, time to sort it out, and if the $19 is really causing you financial burden, please do request a refund until you're in a better place with the hopes or re-purchasing it a few months down the line when it all gets worked out.

The back-n-forth between us is getting rather exhausting, and I know I've been just as guilty at times.   Let's just enjoy the brotherhood we share as a community insanely passionate about aviation in general and simming specifically.  I know we all mean well in our intent, and I like the way the last few posts have turned the feeling of where this was going back on track. 🙂

Goosfraba....hehe...if you have not seen the movie Anger Management....its hilarious. 🤣

I had the same issue with orbx kbur, but I figured it was because of the socal area and never paid it too much attention. Hopefully FlyTampa fix this

Did anybody think to make screenshots of Las Vegas before adding in the FT mod? I am really curious now what the default scenery looked like, what it looked like after the USA upgrade, and now with the FT mod. Even now when droning over the scenery I see quite a few artifacts where garbage got collected, cars and even a construction site in front of a large casino were extruded and left uncorrected. And one of the buildings over by the Hooters was hovering about 10 feet off the ground. I honestly expected to have a pleasant walk around the strip, even go into some of the casinos like in the airport.

A patch has since been released for KBUR which completely fixed the FPS issue and it was not down to user errror or machine spec but rather an ORBX error in how they made the scenery.

Still not good after the US update....it was better than it was....but once you see the absolutely stunning rendition the FT team did....you simply cannot un-see it.   It would ONLY be barely acceptable if you were flying about it over 10k.....and its much too dark than the real Vegas.  This FT version is the best I've ever seen, period.

I have to admit, the first thought I had when I began looking at FT Las Vegas scenery in my sim was, holy word not allowed they modelled the whole freeway system from Vegas to Los Angeles. And since then I have made one flight from San Diego to Vegas, and I can only say seeing the city skyline on the horizon when I was still miles out was rather glorious. So I am reluctant to throw this baby out with the bathwater, even if there are some performance issues.

I'm getting a steady 34FPS flying low and slow downtown.  I lowered my resolution to 1080p from 4k though that did the trick at 4k I was getting about 15 fps.

Well, flying less than 50ft off the ground I'd assume the FPS would be abysmal....!

Has anyone tried actually not using their AC as a walking street level simulator and flying over the scenery at a realistic altitude?

Curious what the FPS Hit would be at 1000ft plus?

Maybe this scenery is within acceptable FPS limits when used realistically and not flying through it at 50ft at 100 Knts!

The airport is awesome, if Performance is an issue, Just disable the city and use the airport with the MSFS default city of LV. The default ain't too bad.. Its quite adequate for me to use the amazing FT KLAS. The novelty of using the city wears off after a while. Its the city that is taxing, not the airport.

Dropping from 4k to 1024 is a massive drop just to get the performance.  I have a large 4k monitor so I would struggle to do that without it looking appalling on my screen.

They seem to have some ideas on optimisation, so I will wait to see what develops, as I would really like this.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

1024 actually looks pretty darn good on my monitor.  What's most important for me is fluidity in flight.  I can't stand stutters and low fps.  So I did the tradeoff I guess my eyes aren't that good to tell the difference between 4k and 1024.  When I ran 4k I had render scaling at 60 with 1024 I have it at 100.

Whilst I appreciate and am sincerely glad that it is working well for you on your setup, there is clearly an issue here for other users of all setup types including the latest and greatest GPUs.

With all due respect, it somewhat undermines the issues many other users are having that are not really 'normal' and very frustrating by praising FT for their work especially when the developer has been somewhat in denial over the issue. Also, I don't recommend encouraging others to buy a scenery that clearly for many is broken. It actually facilitates encouraging poor development practices (especially in terms of user support like how the developer answered to Dillon on the FT forum).

I posted example pics a few pages back.  I definitely have an older CPU and although my GPU is still nice, it's also dated.  I'm also NOT at 4K - I think a lot of people are expecting too much at 4k with 8GB vram.
