How's the performance by the way, anything better? Unfortunately I am away from my PC until next week but monitoring the status here and the official fourms lol.

Oh also how's the night lighting, anything improved here or still the same one?

Still stutters when you do quick sharp turns or quick turn of the head with trackIR.
Would love to know how VR is?

So this pretty much proves I was right that it's just full green summer trees with snow dusted on top...

Obviously, no bare winter trees anywhere to be found.  I'd rather just continue to fly in summer season until they get this right and not some half-baked attempt at winter to drive obvious Christmas sales!

Looks completely ridiculous if you ask me.

VERY Disappointing!!!

It’s already known that seasonal vegetation changes aren’t coming to MSFS until sometime in 2021, so I’m not sure why you would be disappointed.

Personally, I’d rather see heavy ground cover of snow (where it actually exists at the current time), even if the underlying trees are green. If open fields are completely snow covered, you won’t see the green grass underneath, and from high altitude, it’s not so obvious that the trees are still green. In areas with mainly coniferous trees, they actually do stay green year-round.

Apparently the accumulated snow is working in some areas, but not others.

Though P3D and FSX do have seasonal variations in vegetation - I.e. most trees are barren in the winter in the north, they also have the unrealistic effect of always putting snow on the ground in cold climates from December through January, whether it actually exists or not. In my location in New York, on December 16th, there was no actual snow anywhere. On December 17th, there was 2 feet.

Ugh the weather in this sim continues to be an endless frustration. Still has the bug of a second flight not loading live weather properly. Snow seems random as heck whether it loads or not. One would have thought you'd be able to go to the meteoblue site and look at their snow depth map and go somewhere in the sim and get white, but it is spotty at best. 4-6" in upstate NY got white on the ground but 4-6" in the UP of Michigan there's nothing. You can look at live webcams and see snow on the ground but there's nothing in the sim. Loading up in northern Canada without restarting the sim there was no snow, but after restarting the sim there was.

Can't asobo implement ONE thing correctly the first time? 😒

Is there a way to turn this snow effect "OFF" in the meantime?

Fly in the Tropics is the best way to turn the Snow off

YMMV

Cheers

New option under traffic settings 'Traffic Variety'

I wonder if Ultra is what we've had till now, with the lower settings improving frame rates or if High and Ultra increase the previous variety?

Too bad...

I test flew the default G36 and it’s much improved in it default version though!

I have a strange performance drop after I have flown for about 30 min, suddenly I lose 20 fps and I get terrible stuttering, the only way to solve it is to go back to main menu and restart the flight, then everything is back to normal , the problem seems worse if I fly in US (Seattle) at home in Sweden it is better as it only happened to me once so far, but in US it is hopeless to fly, micro stuttering even at high fps, is there anyone who have experiences the same thing?

I was getting this previous to last patch. I ended up removing mods until it went away. There was a very noticeable memory leak- you could watch the number increase slowly as you flew. I think one flight I got down to about 15 fps before landing.

Yup, lots of micro stuttering even at 50-60fps. Happens during Sharp turns or looking around quick.

That is not what I see in your picture. I should post a photo of my trees right now.  It's December 22 and I live in a heavily wooded area in eastern Maryland.  Looks like a residual amount of dead leaves in December, not summer trees.  That looks like what I was seeing here two weeks ago.  That noreaster storm you mentioned that brought you the snow, gave us high winds that cleaned off most of what was left.  But not all.

This is the first time I can say this looks like plain FSX. The snowy mountains look in a modded FSX much much better. Funny.

You must be blind.....but then again, judging by your sig, you must really like to be the one that stands out....

So, with that said, You win the internet with the funniest joke of the day! posting a picture of FSX and trying to act as if its anywhere close to the new MSFS. Very funny man! Good Job!

This has spiraled into so many pages that it would be very difficult to find time to read it all

I think there should be some sort of automatic way to remove "My goodness, FBW is broken" along with any other references to other mods not working. I say this because with every update the same thing happens, so it is far from unexpected. Maybe a BIG BOLD statement from MS/ASOBO with every update notice, that modded aircraft, MAY, if not, WILL BE, broken.

Another BIG BOLD statement with every update notice that users should copy/paste the community folder to another drive or folder before the update and then reinstate the folder after the update and reboot.

I am incredibly surprised to find that so many people with the common sense and logic to be able to fly a plane, cannot grasp these two inherent and indisputable facts.

It would also be nice if MS/Asobo could come up with a way to not upset these mods in the first place, but I suspect that this would be very difficult ?? (read impractical)

Someone else stated here that these threads should be limited to the things that have gone wrong with the update and have no input into Mods breakages at all,  This may be a good idea but it certainly limits those who want to vent or just discuss the update in other terms.

I cannot comment on the update as I am 12.15Gib into the update at the moment.

Yeah you're right, screw Asobo for making season weather happen with literal snowfall. For making snowfall accumulation only happen based off of actual data. Nah forget that, you want arbitrary textures that get loaded up in the sim based on a calendar day and stay the exact same year round.

Tell me now, if the trees were as you wished, would the sim be perfect to you? Don't answer that, I'll answer it for you, No it won't. You'll find something else to complain about.
