This is the first time I can say this looks like plain FSX. The snowy mountains look in a modded FSX much much better. Funny.

Uh, good luck with the operation for your cataracts.

So sad to read this. I am very recognizant of your frustration and appreciate your sentiments. Hang in there mate, all this nonsense is sure to dissipate over the next ten years LOL.

Any further news on the DA62?

Merry Christmas and a happy New year to you and family.

Tony

Thanks for that Tony. And yours too!  The DA62 makeover has been ready for release for a month - except for the autopilot issues. A very capable programmer has been helping me and between us we got the a/p very close to excellent, but we were waiting for this update - which looks to have wasted all that work (: But I'm pleased it appears to be working better anyway.

I was really hoping this had been addressed. This issue has been with me for the last couple of updates.

It used to be relatively smooth in tuns and panning, now this micro stuttering.

Do you use g-sync? I do. I’ve just read that the new nvidia drivers cause frame pacing issues with g-sync enabled. And it’s recommended to go back to the 457.30 driver. I am going to test this tomorrow morning.

The AP turn performance is now much better. I did an ILS capture in the stock G1000 C172 from a 45 degree intercept angle coming from the upwind side of a 30 knot crosswind, and the aircraft got itself established quite quickly with no s-turning or other nonsense. Quite pleased with the improvement.

Now if Asobo will just leave it alone going forward!

I gotta say, the snow and ice looks good, but can be annoying. For example my local field is now buried in snow... No runway visible. In real life, of course the surfaces are cleared.... Also, rock faces look pretty odd with the snow mask over them, and there was a whole shelf of ice in the ocean... where there has never, ever been ice before. Like I said, looks good but not very realistic.

Installed UK2000 EGGD (Bristol UK).  Loaded MSFS and it decided to do the 13 Gb update.  Now I have spikes in the mesh in the EGGD area.  Of course because the airport and the update installed at the same time, I have no idea which is causing the mesh spikes.

Anyone mind having a fly around EGGD to see if they have any spikes in the locality.

FPS seems to be a little higher BTW but could be placebo effect :-

No issues my friend.

I believe it's been said before that clearing out your terrain cache can fix these kinds of issues with the mesh sometimes?  Worth a shot.

Anyone else having a bug with the C172 standard version fuel shutoff not turning on?

Anyone else seeing a blank screen where their sensitivity settings used to be?

Also, the G1000 in the C208 was a white screen.  The G1000 in other aircraft is working fine.

How do you clear the terrain cache? Thanks.

Good to hear. When will we see your DA62 mod?

MSFS

They fixed some far north water elevation issues in Canada, this body of water here next to CYRB used to be a tall plateau. Though now it looks like it might be a bit too low instead of being too high. I reported this on Zendesk 4 months ago.

Emphasis on the word 'some' though, this river north of CYYR is still displaced

Just finished a flight in the TBM after installing the update.  No issues to report, thankfully.

The new Content Manager menu is fantastic.  Now i can see what I have and haven't installed and what needs updated.

Lots more to test but so far, I'm happy with the update.

The ground physics are still completely unblended with the flight physics so the aircraft (any aircraft, any location) still lurches down the runway as if it was on ice.

It's like the entire sim was written by people who had never flown an aircraft, and they just ignored 14,000 comments from the Alpha/Beta testers.

Oh well.  X-Plane 11 doesn't look too horrible with Ortho4XP, and there are several great freeware aircraft.  And you can land without sliding across the runway like some giant green hand from 1960s Star Trek had reached out to shove the aircraft across the runway sideways.
