Trees as far as you can see

Really? I am hoping not because LOD 125 removes the stutters that occur at 200...

So it turns out your system can't really handle the ultra settings you had which was causing stutters?

Are you sure you didn't already had some kind of tree height mod installed? I can't tell any other reason why you could see trees much far in the distance already without this latest mod.

Maybe he's not pixel peeping like some of these guys. I myself have no mod except for thr fall season and I'm fine with my trees set at medium. Don't care to squint my eyes to see stuff 10 miles away lol

It's funny, I'd never noticed the Tree Draw distance until I installed this Mod, now it's opened up a whole new world...a world where trees exist more than a mile away! nice.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Okay, did some comparisons myself. Most noticable difference between the two mods (pardon the changing (and odd) cockpitview, the scenery is in the exact same position though) is that the mod from the OP has (almost) the same tree size as default while the blog mod has a lower tree size. This makes the blog mod look a little bit less dense (but only very lightly noticable when comparing).

Tip: click on the first picture and then use the arrow keys to switch between them. You will clearly see what's default and also which mod you are looking (lower trees is blog mod).

All in all both mods look quite the same when it comes to the distance, it's only the height that's different (and hence slightly the amount of ground you see through the trees).

To each his own but the small circle of trees around my plane really killed immersion for me. I really don't need to squint my eyes to see the very obvious difference...! (See pictures above. 😉 ) Any of the mods with LOD 125 is on the edge of immersion killing already imho. I have yet to test performance with the various settings though so I might have to go for 125 in the end but 200 clearly is best.

As much as I agree, you are wasting your time there Ian.

Some people just like to rain on every parade and sneer at things.  Ii dont know why they bother to interject if they are fine the way they are.  I dont go into threads that dont interest me, so it does seem like strange behaviour.

It doesn't matter - they weight of opinion is on show easily enough.

I'm trying help these guys by telling them they don't have to run the game on ultra to enjoy it. I'd rather run on med setting and have a smooth experience everywhere vs running on ultra and introduce stutters and low fps, but to each his own lol

He must have a deal with nvidia too, as he said he has a better system (which I wouldn’t be bothered about anyway). I wasn’t aware you could pick up a better card than a 3090 though. Interesting.

Well apart from the 3090, I'd say it's a notch better but you get the point

Oooooookay, back on topic...? 😉 Another example which imho PROVES (despite the hazy circumstances) that without the mod things just don't look real (enough). The difference is staggering and obvious. Without the mod you seem to fly in a barren landscape with just a few trees nearby (or a small forest below you) while with the mod you suddenly see you are flying over huge forests that reach to the horizon. (This is the OP's mod with LOD 200). No need to squint here...! 😉 The default settings simply give a FALSE view on how it really looks down there! Man, I really hope either Asobo will implement this mod (somehow) or that this mod will stay compatible with MSFS the coming years because as a bush flyer I really can't do without it already. The difference is huge, awesome and absolutely needed!

These feature differencies really helps to decide which mod you really want:

- Flightsim.to mod includes increased draw distance only for trees.

- Flightsimulator.blog mod includes increased draw distance for ALL trees, bushes and palms PLUS fixes some too tall trees and jungle palms a bit shorter.

That added no value. OK.. I too don't pixel peep. But what if others did? why would it bother me? I don't get it. If you are happy with the settings you have..Good for you, enjoy it. why bother raining on others parade? sheesh!

My quote was your quote of me, and your reply was to me, if you cannot follow simple things I truly understand. It can be very hard for someone that also cannot see the difference this mod makes, as you point out we are all "pixel peeping" to see a difference. But hey carry on, your a very funny guy every time you open your month.

See the thing is I don't care for a lot of these mods because they sometimes introduce more bugs and problem. I'm totally fine with lod 100 and trees set at med. That's why my sim is trouble free

You shouldn’t assume things.
And you didn’t answer the question. Just avoided it.

I don't have any scenery spikes or stutters so how do you explain that? And I'm sure I'm not the only one who's Sim is trouble free

OK, gents, I've just removed at least a dozen posts due to increasingly aggressive off-topic squabbling.  Knock it off, please.
