Trees as far as you can see

Quick question, reducing trees to medium does that reduce quantity an not the overall visual quality of them? That’s what I had in my head

On mine, it only seems to thin them out a bit in terms of numbers.  They still look well populated to me though.  The trees look identical in quality to me also.  I just flew over some on an approach, and they looked superb.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Seems the lod is tied to cpu, minimal difference between 100 And 200, yet way smoother at 100.....

This mod does what it says on the tin but the trees don't look great that far out...the tree top line on mountains looks quite weird I can't put a finger on it.

Yes, you would want to further edit the file "10-asobo_species.xml" to get a smoother tree line - change the maximum heights of the tallest variation and change the spawn ratios. Takes some trial and error to find the best mixture. The author of the mod changed the spawn ratio and heights of the last variant of each species to an improbable low spawn ratio - so there is effectively one less variant to show up for each species.

Also, by comparing the fall and winter mods of BijanStudio with Asobo's original files I found some errors (commented out parts and misspelled EcoRegions). All in all, these xml files might need some fine tuning to get the desired results without adverse effects or even CTDs.

Thanks for this mod. I now have trees as far as I can see. I'm at LOD 200 and there's no performance impact by this mod that I have noticed.

How do you find lod 200? Smooth?

I got 150 LOD, there is no popping, no stutters, just trees. far as you can see. - Love it!

Yep completely smooth. No lag or fps drop with this tree fix either.

Ignore that one, is ridiculous to pay for something like this, as community we all work together to find workarounds and fixes, not to sell them and take advantages. Of course with all respect to the creator/

Thank you

Would it be possible to edit the trees ( height )?

Yes it is. Minimum and maximum values as highlighted in the tree height fix are all in this mod. TBH for me it’s only the jungle variants that seemed glaringly oversized, or at least out of place in rural New Zealand.

Are you sure it's possible ??

The latest version 1.7 adds all the vegetation (not only the trees) as well and makes some of the too tall trees and jungle palms a bit shorter too. Previous version not having all the different trees included is now fixed in this.

Now MSFS looks absolutely stunning, just like it should have been since day one!

Blurry Bing Maps imagery doesn't matter that much anymore due to autogen trees and bushes filling it all the way till 10 nautical miles without stutters or major FPS drops.

I like this mod... looks good. I fly the CJ4 alot, and i like that at a pretty high alt you can still see the tree lines. Cool. My FPS may have gone down a couple at low alt. I am at 125 on both sliders.

Is this the same version that is linked in the opening post?

No, this flightsimulator.blog mod includes all trees, bushes and palms up to maximum draw distance as well as makes some of the too tall trees a bit smaller. Some default trees are unrealistically too tall you know.
