I don't suppose either of you are using the TCA quadrant too?

I was hoping the first post could be updated with the known and verified bugs introduced by 1.13.16.0
Here's the ones the developers have accepted and are looking into it for a future fix

- Taxi lights misplaced for any default and third party airport that make use of the light row feature. More details here and here
- Southampton and Portsmouth missing photogrammetry, details here
- Broken flight dynamics for many aircrafts, default and 3rd parties, details here

Adding this, not really a bug per se but it leads to many scenery packages having to be modified.
The update includes new Bing aerial imagery for many places in the world, in some places it is better while in some other is less detailed.
What's worse is that imagery shifted by a few meters, both default airports and addons need to be modified slightly to correct for this
Of course the only scenery I have created ends up in an area where the new imagery is extremely poor and shifted, doh! 🙄 (Lebanon, Oregon, US)

Earlier in this thread, or maybe another, someone was using that technique a la bush pilot - retracting flaps nearing touchdown.

I do not want to generalize  my experience but I just landed in Hermansburg Australia which has a short dirt strip, with a full flaps C172 and there was no floating and no need to retract the flaps to kill the lift

I think some default aircraft are affected worse than others. Give the Caravan, un-modded a try.

Instead of giving up try to get some help. This whole hobby is about figuring out these kinds of issues and working through them.  The FSX community was the biggest example of this as that sim was broken out the gate with no monthly updates.  I'm sure something like a System Restore and other options will get you back up and running.

I find it hard to believe that after updating the game and restarting the pc, the game wants to reinstall itself again?

I'd say user error and he's not telling us everything.

Thanks for keeping the spirit up but I tried to verify the files using Steam and it turns out this removes absolutely everything MSFS file there is. The only way to get MSFS back is to reinstall it from scratch.

Thats exactly the problem and it has been mentioned multiple times. Verifying files will trigger a reinstall

The reinstalling was indeed a user error: I didn't know verifying the sim through Steam would delete all data... 🤔 My bad, I suppose... However, the constant reboots certainly wasn't a user error. It simply was (apparently) bad luck. There is nothing MORE to tell. I updated the sim and after that it kept on rebooting the entire PC. word not allowed happens.

So it's not likely to be hardware-related unless it's something to do with USB devices.

I've certainly noticed one strange issue, present before this update: If I plug in a USB card reader* (and it might do the same with other USB devices, I haven't tested), whatever aircraft I'm flying always deploys flaps and spoilers!🤔I have to retract both each time.

Has there ever been an update which did not break something?

something is different, for me at least, the Airplanes feels like Ultralights, throttle up and after just a few meters you can go up very quick,

and wind blows you around like a sheet of paper, have to do more flights and test different Airplanes.

Concerning Asobo's Flight Simulator (FS2020), no...

On a good day that's actually realistic... 🧐

Did two landings with the non modded 208. At 75 knots full flaps on short final and a touch down at about 57 knots, no floating. The aircraft settled gently on the runway.

BTW do you know of a good mod for the Caravan ?

Really? Good to know.  I’ll have to try later. Up until last night it was still an issue on my end.

I don’t know of a “good” 208 mod. I’m aware of two in the MFSF official forum - but after reading the benefits and limits of each I decided to stay with the default until Asobo addresses the turboprop modeling.

Well, fingers crossed 🤞🏽 I can fly the Caravan tonight... will report back!
