Saw a few isolated halos around trees. Odd thing was that there will be a few trees with halos, but all the other trees next to them have no halo.

Mind sharing the link here. We can then upvote for MS/Asobo

The halo is not only around trees, other objects and airplanes (including the one you fly) are also impacted.

Voted.

In software development you never really are....:)

In digital photography, halos are often associated with over sharpening.

Image sharpening involves increasing contrast at the edge of objects, so if one does too much of it, a halo artifact can result.

I have no way of knowing if this is the case here, but it might be, especially because it seems that the effect comes and goes depending on sky condition.

Classic over sharpening.

There was a discussion of how to turn off the sharpening some months/weeks ago (who can keep track of time anymore?). There's a setting in a global config file. This artefact may be dependent on resolution and anti-alias settings, but it should go away if you turn off the postprocess sharpening.
