March 1, 20215 yr There are some animations showing up in the sim. The eye in London and that viewing platform that goes up and down at Brighton are two examples. As are the moving cars and boats and airport baggage carts. As far as aftermarket stuff goes, you do not have to buy the airports with animations and added features if your game cannot handle it it is your choice. The same way you do not need to use Force Feedback or track IR. For me a standard flight sim with no trackIR or FFB and no animated stuff is hopelessly unrealistic, not quite as bad as playing Atari River Raid, but close 😄 I actually like stuff like the moving people at FSDT Key West. Or the (currently unanimated) cows and Hot Air balloon people at Brindas or the people on the beach at Juliana St Maartens, these things bring the sim to life. What i would really like is random changes so the animations are different at different times of day. The airport is more crowded before a flight leaves for example but relatively empty late at night. Edited March 1, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
March 1, 20215 yr Funny coincidence that I started a thread about the new Aerosoft Bonaire airport addon earlier today mainly because I was so impressed with the animated people adding life to the airport (before this thread started I think). Strange that anyone would think it is pointless. What's the point in addon airports then if it is not to replicate the look and feel of the real thing? It's a simulator afterall and involves simulating the world around us as well as flight. We may as well say then what's the point of nice looking clouds or traffic modeled on the roads or indeed boat traffic if all we are do is simply fly aircraft. I appreciate that it's not everyone's cup of tea but we may as well go back to FS2004 or X-Plane 9 in that case. I personally think the more details of every type, the better!! And in fact for the most part I have stopped buying airport addons that don't go the extra mile. In this day and age, we should expect complex addons. Edited March 1, 20215 yr by steve310002
March 2, 20215 yr I don't like going to airports with no people. It's too spooky. 👻 cheers bs AMD RYZEN 9 5900X 12 CORE CPU - ZOTAC RTX 3060Ti GPU - NZXT H510i ELITE CASE - EVO M.2 970 500GB DRIVE - 32GB XTREEM 4000 MEM - XPG GOLD 80+ 650 WATT PS - NZXT 280 HYBRID COOLER

March 2, 20215 yr It would be nice if there were a detail level setting in the sim that 3DP addons could somehow hook into to turn features like this on or off. Since I fly GA aircraft and mostly park at parking spots, the ever-present MSFS Pushback Crew that seems to magically teleport to every place I land is plenty of people for me. I could see how tubeliner pilots might like to see some people in the terminal though. Especially that last person running for the gate and being turned away as the door to the jetway is already closed. Give us a '3DP Scenery Detail - Low/Med/High/Ultra' or something like that. March 2, 20215 yr The world is alive. Airports (at least before Covid) have bustling crowds, people in lines, waiting for boarding and boarding, exiting/entering in jetways/stairs,etc. This is not an all our nothing thing. GSX has the idea which will be brought to MSFS. This takes care of a lot of the externals. Developers who cover the internal going ons of the terminal are doing great work as the realism quotient is elevated in this sim. Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb, 7900XTX 24gb

I purchased that the first day it came out and haven't gone inside. Why is this such a touchy subject? I started it half in jest but let and watched it ride and am actually amazed. lol LouP
March 2, 20215 yr I have no problem with animated passengers wandering around terminals, so long as they look realistic. April 29, 20224 yr I came here to see if there was a way to add people (passengers, staff etc.) inside the terminals. That would make things so real.
April 29, 20224 yr I have another thought about animated people at the airport. I always wonder if it would be nice to have a third party software to add and customize animated people at both third party or stock airports. I am not a technical person so I am not sure if it is possible. 😅 [email protected], ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4, Noctua NH-U12S, G.SKILL 32GB Kit F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC Trident Z Neo RGB DDR4 3600MHz, SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD 1TB, WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4TB, Inno3D RTX 4080Ti, Cooler Master V750 Gold 750W PSU, Win11 Pro, Dell 24" 2408WFP 1920x1200 30 , Fulcrum One Yoke, MFG Crosswind V2 rudder pedal, Saitek Throttle Quadrant, Logitech Cessna Trim Wheel, Saitek Multi Panel, DIY Cessna 172 Radio stack (via Arduino/MobiFlight), Air manager V5 on 10" 1920x1080 monitor
