Yeah I sometimes forget that some people are so far off the spectrum, that nothing will ever please them

Pretty much!

People need to get over themselves and  stop pretending that they are so far above a  visual experience and can only enjoy the sim if it offers a NASA level simulation of their favourite aircraft.

I get what you're trying to say.  I really do.  BUT... no one has a right to determine what other people must find enjoyable.  Some people really, really like flipping switches on a PMDG model, and that's totally cool.  For them, honestly, this sim currently probably won't meet their needs, and that's OK!  There's no shame in saying that, and it's no dis on MSFS.

However, it also works in the opposite direction: many, many people have a broader definition of fun in a flight sim than rivet-counters and switch-flippers who scoff at MSFS as just being "eye-candy" or lacking "features" do.  They are far outnumbered by people who enjoy hopping into a somewhat believable reproduction of a plane and flying around in the most realistic version of the globe ever seen in a flight simulator.

And for so-called "hard core" folks, the "serious simmers"*, to just say "nope, not worth it, move on" is the bigger sin.  And there is a lot of that on this forum.  So to that extent, I agree with you. It's not a matter of them having delusions about their intellect or anything like that, just about folks not being elitist a-holes, or assuming that their way of fun is the only right one, and encouraging folks to have fun however they find it.

* (I can't even say "serious simmer" with a straight face, but you know what I mean.)

Yet those same people ends up spending thousands on airports, effects, textures, etc, "for the visuals"

Cheers :)

It's always been worth it.

The Airbus with the FBW stable mod is hit or miss on vatsim. It's still hit or miss with the dev or cfbw version. The only airplane I would realiably fly on Vatsim would be the WT Cj4. That is so predictable and lovely to fly on vatsim. You get your navigraph charts out and plan your SID, STAR and approaches with transitions, and you can program it correctly into the FMC. In the FBW A320 not so much.

True, it's not working perfectly. Sometimes it's challenging. Depite that I was expecting worse. Never could imagen me flying a default aircraft anyway, but it works even if you have to improvise here and there. Nevertheless, I will try out the CJ4 Mod.

Looking genuily forward for the FSL Airbus and PMDG planes. If they are out and work decently performance-wise, this sim is gonna be amazing.

Good Afternoon all

So i just got a brand new cyberpower computer and i was wondering is MSFS 2020 worth buying now and upgrading as the future moves forward or waiting until next year when the sim has had some time to mature.

Right now in my opinion it is just eye candy and lacks functionality

I know that alot of the heavy iron add ons won't be ready till end of this year or next year and all i would be doing is hitting the upgrade button till then

every and all opinions would be welcome

thanks for your help in advance

Well everybody has their own opinions but mine is it was worth buying on day 1!

it is not currently a "virtual Airline Captain" game and has not been promoted as such, though it might get there by 2022 or 2023 but they have plenty of other issues to sort before they get around to catering to the niche "heavy" market. For Asobo, heavies may not  be quite as niche as people wanting mil jets but they are still not the main target of the game/sim.

To be honest I doubt Asobo will ever do much more than they have already with default aircraft, Getting a wide variety of study level airliners is going to be a 3PD thing.

Meanwhile the rest of the game is well worth investing in.

If I had to choose to delete MSFS and keep all my other games and sims (Pike and Shot hex board wargame, Wolf Pack submarine warfare simulation, Rise of Flight combat flight simulator), I would delete the others and keep MSFS.

I've never understood these posts. Do you want to fly now? Or in a year? After 2020 I put NOTHING off. I freaking LOVE this sim, warts and all. I have gotten my money's worth already. Why would I wait a year for any amount of pleasure?

It - MSFS is already a classic. 👍

What is this "enjoy" thing of which you speak ?

Flight Simming is a very serious business, akin to having a second job.

So stop all that frivolous fun and unproductive time wasting right now, you hear me !  We will have none of your "fun" nonsense here.

I haven't touched another Sim since but I have put any serious airliner flying on the back burner until we get a serious jet,for general aviation it's brilliant, sure it needs some work but invaluable aid for real life flying and so much more realistic looking than others which is my main go to, the aerodynamics are reasonable so I'm happy, let's face it it will never come close to real flying with control feedback, does a pretty good job though for small GA planes
