For people who are suffering performance Issue after Update3

Featured Replies

The armchair QB's here think they know better than the team that brought the entire platform, alpha-release that it is for sure.  Until this update I had a virtually flawless 205h.  It's laughable, and mainly points to how addicted people get to this hobby such that when it's not there the sky is clearly falling and panic sets in.  It will be fixed and likely quite soon.

amazing how you all don't actually think they'll do anything to help! I am disgusted how ungrateful this community is actually, when every two weeks or so there is an update ... updates made to intentionally ruin the sim? not on your life! watch the youtube interviews, developer chats why don't you? See for yourself..the 3 man team is fantastic.... very genuine .... but yet still, "everybody" complains..... Now, everybody loves X-plane, yet when XP11 was the "only" sim the last few years, everybody was like "Austin won't fix it, Austin doesn't care" blah blah blah

I think the single thing that upsets folks here is that we had a beautiful working sim, then came a patch, then it was somewhat broken (for some badly). We are grateful for the work they have done, nobody is accusing them of breaking anything on purpose. It is annoying though they don't run a beta test on their updates, and they seem a little word not allowed on these issues, at least they did a few days ago, I really hope that has now changed.

Why don't they beta test their patches? Why cant they roll back to the previous version? It's not like this is affecting only a small amount of users, there are many many people having the same issue. It's sloppy and I thought Microsoft and Asobo were better companies that this. Itll probabl get fixed in the new few weeks but I was excited to fly the CRJ tomorrow and now I can't, and this problem could've been avoided altogether

LOL. True.

Well I was born in the UK and now live in the good ol' US of A. Same difference, with a different accent.

If they can't fix it this week, a roll back to the previous version until next update would be the best solution for all I think.

I know I wrote that above and we would certainly like that, but I imagine people with no issues will be very annoyed that they have to spend time while the sim downgrades, then spend more time upgrading again to the new build once the performance issue is addressed.

And as I think more about it, who knows if Asobo even maintains a back up of the previous version 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Yeah agreed. They just need to fix this one. In the future a beta test and an opt-in for beta versions (as many other platforms do) would work better. Stating the obvious I know.

Microsoft was just notified of a bug in Exchange in January by security researchers and then left it unpatched until March.

As a result over 60,000 companies and organizations throughout the US and other countries (including multiple Fortune 500 companies) have had their email servers hacked, email exfiltrated, and backdoor software left on their servers that continues to compromise their networks.

One of Microsoft's suggestions was that these groups should pay for Microsoft "managed" Exchange services instead of running their own on-premises servers...because you know, somehow that would have fixed things....

So this is how Microsoft treats some of their massive corporate customers doing billions of dollar of business on Exchange.  And people somehow think they are going to fix MSFS when it's just some gamers.....unless people are willing to make some noise and get articles written in some mainstream news sources, I doubt anything is going to change.

I wonder why not all companies use Mac instead of Windows, my experience is that Mac is a much more stable system, my Windows computer requires constant tweaking to work optimally, my Macbook Pro laptop works year after year without the slightest problem.

As a recently retired CISO I agree with you. However, this is also comparing apples to oranges a little too. We sit down with MS/ASOBO on a fairly regular basis. Flight sim is much more intimate than worldwide corporations. We have a much more 1-1 relationship and needs do tend to be reviewed, talked about, and often actioned far more quickly than the outside world.

We've been asking for an opt-in beta so that advanced users could help test new builds since basically launch day 6 months ago.

In the fall the said it was on the roadmap and they planned to do it.

In the last dev Q&A Jorg backpedaled and said it was "something to think about".

The community has literally offered to do MS/Asobo's QA job for them and they can't get past their 1984 doublespeak about that point, let alone numerous other points.
