For people who are suffering performance Issue after Update3

Featured Replies

I wonder if it’s a scenery loading related issue, like the ones that were common in XP11 before Vulcan. I find performance is generally decent with SU3 - despite the FPS issues of course. They seem intermittent, but perhaps more frequent approaching major cities. I’ve done some 2-3 hr flights in the FBW 320 last few days, and FPS seems to plummet on approach to major cities, like Cairo or Dubai. 100nm out or so if I remember correctly.  It’s definitely a thing I’ve noticed after SU3, and although infrequent it detracts from the otherwise smooth experience.

We've been asking for an opt-in beta so that advanced users could help test new builds since basically launch day 6 months ago.

In the fall the said it was on the roadmap and they planned to do it.

In the last dev Q&A Jorg backpedaled and said it was "something to think about".

The community has literally offered to do MS/Asobo's QA job for them and they can't get past their 1984 doublespeak about that point, let alone numerous other points.

Oh I agree with you. Just it is a different set of problems with MS/Assobo compared to corporate security.

my experience is that Mac is a much more stable system, my Windows computer requires constant tweaking to work optimally, my Macbook Pro laptop works year after year without the slightest problem.

I understand why a lot of people like their Apple equipment, but overall, I've found the Win PC to be actually more powerful, more adaptable, and far less costly.  Also, the Macs I've used in the past couldn't run 1/4th of the software I needed to do my work (and some of my fun).  In one year, the Mac I used in my department failed 3 times and finally crashed totally.  Not one of the PCs we were running had any issues at all.

I will say that the PCs took more knowledge and more energy to keep everything updated and maintained, but overall, they ran like a hot knife through butter.  Finally, I only had one PC in my home go down in 3 decades, but I did concentrate on my maintenance.

There's something going on here that has nothing to do with graphics settings, because I'm finding that even the settings menu is very slow when the framerate problem happens, and that shouldn't be impacted by fooling with detail sliders.

It's very random too.

Not so sure it is. Every night I attempt a flight from KSLC eastward, and it goes from a smooth 35-40 FPS to 15 FPS as soon as I hit a certain area.

I just try something, switching from 60 FPS V-Sync On to Off, quite a nice improvement even if not perfect.

I just did that, it made absolutely no difference. I even put the settings on Low and their stupid recommendation to move the Render Scale from 100 to 80, and zero difference.

What a joke. I want my money back until the game is functional again.

I agree, they should really do more hotfixes about performance and non new things, with a way for us to easily get back to previous version. A bit like Steam is doing with optional beta

In my experience (and most others from what I can tell) its not random....I have been able to repro myself at LIRQ (with a custom airport bought thru the marketplace)...Others have shown its 100% reproducible at an airport in Texas (which I dont have the ID for ATM).....

76T airport in Texas  brings me down to 5FPS and it stays there. Have to close the program.

Try the same airports but with photogrammetry off.,I bet your fps will be fine

That airport in Texas  is around 200 miles from civilization of any sort. No photogrammetry in site.

My guess is the issue is related to scenery streaming from azure. If you turnoff the online part, you will be fine
