For people who are suffering performance Issue after Update3

i also noticed that my GPU is around 85% then my CPU rockets up to almost 100% on all cores and the GPU drops to around 30% and it does not recover, I can reproduce this every time when departing YBAF and flying over the walter taylor bridge then fly up north. I have lowered all settings and removed all from the community folder but it seems to be this certain area among many others

I see the same thing when leaving Friday Harbor, heading south.

It lasts a minute or two and then recovers.

We've seen similar things in P3D and FSX around Seattle.. many detailed airports all loading in at the same time overwhelms the sim engine..

the area im flying in is not very demanding and it was running superbly before the update, hope they can get to the bottom of it quickly

I’ve just reached out to Digital foundry, as I would love for them to take a deep dive into this.

New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. Old PC - Ryzen 5900x - 32gb 3600Mhz RAM - Asus Strix X570-F Motherboard - ASUS TUF OC RTX 3090 - 1TB Sabrent NVMe. AOC AGON 32" 144Hz - Honeycomb Yoke - Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.

Well I have exhausted all fixes and wasted too much time, think I'll put this aside until asobo sorts it and go hire a real plane

I monitor performance with the perf applet in the Windows Game Bar. Since the UK update, I have noticed that the game uses more GPU VRAM than it used to - up to 85 percent on my 11GB GTX1080Ti. That is not of great concern, The VRAM is there to be used, and it’s a sign that graphics utilization of the GPU has increased, which is a good thing, as long as it does not use ALL the VRAM. In cruise, away from graphically complex airports, the VRAM typically recovers back to about 50 percent, so the memory is indeed being managed.

When I found myself stuck in the Twilight Zone at 76T airport, I did not see any increase in either VRAM or regular RAM, (but the GPU basically stopped working), so it was not an obvious memory leak, but other users have reported steadily increasing RAM consumption, so some kind of memory leak appears to be part of the overall problem in certain scenarios.

BTW I sent Zendesk the name of that airport where this happens so they can see it for themselves, if they have a PC with MSFS 2020 at their location  😉

If you have the issue many are having, this is not the same as P3D Seattle thing. I'm getting random FPS drops even in the dessert without anything.. absolutely anything around. Its location based, not time based. I get this drops on almost every flight I do, all over the world and all the FPS drops are reproducible.

They will tell you to reduce render scale to 80 Bob.

If you guys are getting low FPS then that's a problem with your system and you should seek out solutions, per @sd_flyer

No,  this is a bug - if you get normal FPS for the majority of time but periodically it dips for about 50%. If you're getting low FPS all the time, then it's your system.

I was being sarcastic because in another thread a guy told me to stop complaining and that it's a problem with my system because his works perfectly, and that I should fix it on my own. And he got 9 likes for that comment 🤣

Bert, you are right. But before the last two updates, leaving KFHR heading South was much better. Maybe fps went down a bit, but now it is a stutter fest.

Yeah..I did not want to fall into that trap.

I have switched over to Helos in both XP (412 and 429) and DCS (Huey); and Train Sim 2 while these MSFS issues are going on. Also monitoring forums for announcements /  proven workarounds.

The stutters and Tree LODs have really taken the sim a step back. I am sure that Asobo will get things better, but in the meantime, there are other sims to use.

That’s exactly what they told me. Useless
