It has cost me a lot of time even just being an airport developer. It was generally ok for the first few months of updates, but these past 3-4 updates or so have been a nightmare. Had to rollback to a version a month older for NO explained reason, but luckily most of the work is in the rendering at this point and not in the airport itself. Still, all my taxiways are invisible in Dev mode, so no more easy taxiway editing, among other issues. Edited March 12, 20215 yr by Alpine Scenery AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram
March 12, 20215 yr I was looking into doing a simple freeware aircraft port over from an older model (with permission from the original model author) just to learn the flight model and maybe give people a fun cold war jet to play around with and between the flaps bug and this performance issue I'm discouraged about even that... I would surely appreciate that. Let's hope they fix this thing soon. I think the flap issue was fixed with a hotfix between the last update and this one. March 12, 20215 yr Flying over 76T airport in texas, my FPS went form the normal 30 FPS to 5 FPS, and stayed there. I tried a different aircraft, and the same thing happened. I had to abort both flights.

I think the flap issue was fixed with a hotfix between the last update and this one. The problem is the Flap issue was an obvious and quick (!) error to fix, this performance issue is only affecting some not all users, so it's not that easy. Ultimately as has been known since Day One, this Sim needs a proper optimisation & performance coding pass, not a band aid fix. I fear we may be stuck with poor performance & optimisation until the DX12 update in the Summer, regardless of whether a Hotfix does come out to help this current issue. March 12, 20215 yr I find it so frustrating, before the update, it was running like a dream, I was so enjoying it, I could not stop flying the CJ4, 2-4 flights a day. It really was so, so good. I have spent the last two days doing nothing but trying to figure a fix out. Nothing works. I don’t know now to wait for hopefully a fix or try a reinstall. If only we could hear something. March 12, 20215 yr I am really puzzled what have they done to the performance? I mean when you look at the official fourms, there are like tons of people having these performance issues, they are not "hardware related" issues obviously. They have done something to the CPU utilization they made it worse on performance. The issue is, you would say I will take a break and fly on XP/P3D but then you realize how complex our drama relationship with MSFS lol, like paradox of love and hate 😅 AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display
March 12, 20215 yr Guys, stop trying magical fixes. It's up to asobo and I highly doubt you will be able to do anything. You are wasting your time. Chill out. There are other games or things to do. Cheers N.-

Yeah I was having a lot of fun, now I'm going to complain an awful lot until it gets back to how it was.. I was flying every day in a Cessna 152 from South Africa to the UK. I had made it to central Tanzania and had Kilamanjaro and the Rift Valley to look forward to. On takeoff from some bush strip near Dodoma at about 15FPS I knew something was seriously up with this latest build. it also looks far inferior.. I'm trying to just ignore it and carry on with my trip to the UK, but why do they have to take away from the sim?

Terrible stuttering, pauses. Changed vsync from 30 to 60, worked for a few minutes then back to the stuttering. 15fps with the "Limited by CPU main core" message. Never seen that before either. i7-10700k @ 4.7, 3080 gpu, 32gb memory. Have never used a cache. Unusable right now.. No it wasn't the server issue for me, still unusable. Tried going back to vsync/30fps using nvidia control panel, but same stuttering, vsync/60fps in sim, no help. Lower LOD, no help.

There are other games or things to do. I think that reinstalling MS 2020, or windows, or buying a New Pc...etc..etc.. is a total waste of time. The update screwed it up, and the people that created the update have to fix it. If they don't, people are going to start going elsewhere for their simming. I would think that newbies to simming, have probably had enough of this BS already, and are doing something else that has much less of a hassle factor. Edited March 13, 20215 yr by Bobsk8

I tried setting Render Scaling to 80 like Zendesk recommended and that did jack, so I'm finished trying things. Like you said it's up to Asobo to fix it as they caused the issue, we didn't. Off to play Cities Skylines or Red Dead Redemption 2, which are phenomenal and don't have stupid issues like MSFS. Edited March 13, 20215 yr by NightOfDreams
