June 9, 20215 yr Regarding Market Place versus Developer site, I got the JF Arrow 3 and within a week or two it was updated several times. You buy the same thing from the marketplace, and you will most likely never see anything like that.
June 9, 20215 yr I wonder what the price will be? I will buy it direct from PMDG like I try to do with most addons. I personly like to get updates asap. But I do think selling through the market will bring far more sales and low price 3PD addons will do very well through it. Not so sure if the price is $75 if thats a click bait buy. Like say a $10 one in the market place is. I see the benerfits of direct and market place buys. Each to there own. None is wrong or right. It will be very intresting to see the price. Normaly I would say $75. Now if they think $35 is OK, but if Asobo take 50% then its more likey going to be $75. Lets wait and see. Unless the figures that Asobo give to PMDG say you will sell xxxx's of these and they go for $35. You can only sell cheap if you can stack them high. Edited June 9, 20215 yr by Nyxx David Murden. June 9, 20215 yr For the benefit of those who have not purchased PMDG products before: In past sims, PMDG had an interface where you could easily update all of their products. You didn't have to manually download and install updates. Unless there was a major update, I simply ran it monthly when I updated my nav data. Many of the simming products I have purchased in the last few years, when you start the program, the first thing it does is check for updates.
June 9, 20215 yr think i stay away from marketplace purchases, at least regarding planes... duo to the encoded archives, less income for the dev`s and delayed updates.

Inversely there is less income for the developer of the sim itself if you don't buy from the marketplace. And so there is less incentive for continued development. I'd rather both parties benefit from my money and see no reason why the sims developer should not gain income as well as the third party because without the sim the third party would have no income at all. June 9, 20215 yr PMDG also have in the past not kept download links alive for historical purchases and given some lame excuse around hosting fees so as least on the market place that's very unlikely to happen as well.

If you're not happy with the product, you have the right to not support the developer any further. I will happily support MS/Asobo so they can provide MSFS support as long as possible. I hope to see a new version of it coming after the initial 10 years support they have announced. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

Or else they would have to give customers who bought the NGxu early enough even money back when they buy the MSFS version. Edited June 9, 20215 yr by Farlis
