Navigraph — Worth the Money?

Featured Replies

It’s been awhile since I subscribed to Navigraph.  Looks like it has changed..  they have a $75 Euro year $8 Euro per month ultimate package, or just the FMS data package..

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Just try it. What do you need feedback for? Subscribe for a month and see what you get out of it.

No brainer if you like charts to go with your flying. Approach plates you can print, flight plans you can save and edit. Less than 2 coffees a month.

I use Avliasoft EFB, buy it once and you have all the charts you need, which are developed from the SIm.

I hemmed and hawed over it for a while as was fine using LittleNavMap but eventually bit the bullet a few weeks ago and glad I did. Having all the charts and nav data aids line up with MSFS is nice. Overlaying the approach plates with the moving map is a nice touch and the UI overall is modern and pretty intuitive. You can also display the charts on the G3000 and GTN750 which, while maybe not super functional, is a nice touch too. I prefer to use the Android companion app though and use a tablet for moving maps - has worked worked well for me. I tried out Pilot2Atc as well which links in with Navigraph and it was good to be able to get directed to use the right taxiways as named on the Navigraph charts (even if they're still named wrong in MSFS itself).

I bit the bullet a few days ago and glad I did.

A complete disaster for me at this point... sorry I went this path, here is what happened with me:

tried to utilize my MasterCard, entered all the info.

showed a screen that said it would send me an access code to complete the transaction - never got it

hour on the phone with MC and they finally just cleared the account and manualy pushed through the purchase

I believe I have it installed - well lets just put it this way :  I have a navigraph fms data and navigraph chart icon on my desktop.

during the install it only detected Xplane (which I no longer use) and did not have an option for MSFS

so I click on the fms data icon and only see the simlink status, in theory acordint to thier FAQ's this should have certain number of tabs accros the top with names, well mine does not show that.  I does not show a 'list of simulators'.

Also said it would send a 'confirming email' - never got it (yes, checked junk) so I cant access their forums.

and all I wanted was to get their data into MSFS....

So, I am into this for almost 4 hours now with no usable product and no real recourse.  In about an hour I am going hold payment for this on my card and put it into contention.

Just do a search for Navigraph and Msfs 2020. There's a beta platform you have to install as Navigraph can't link in with MSFS like it does with the other sims. Think this should be the link you need:

https://forum.navigraph.com/t/navigraph-navdata-beta/133

Once you install that should be good to go.

The information on how to use the program for MSFS could be better on their website, I also had trouble understanding how set it up.

I love the charts and the regularly updated navdata is the icing on the cake.  Money well spent IMHO.

Really?  Without Navigraph you won't have actual charts and navdata with Avliasoft EFB. Why they have integrated Navigraph recently.

For all others -  I have a Navigraph subsciption since X-Plane 9. At least for my kind of flying, actual navdata and charts are essential for me. Not only for preparation, sometimes more time consuming  than for the flight itself, much more important for flying online. It starts on most airports with taxiing. Where is this fricking TWY the ATC (VATSIM/IVAO eg.)  is talking about? MSFS has no clue ...

And do not forget - there are a lot of simmers like me not flying in the US (or only). It is not so easy then to get the actual data and charts. At least not in this comfortable way Navigraph offers.

Best regards

Bob, you do need to have a Navigraph or Navdata Pro subscription though if you want an updated database unfortunately. You can also run Aivlasoft EFB after establishing one database into the server, so a one time subscription will do if you dont mind having an outdated database afterward.

Personally, i find it a bit silly to have to buy another database when there is one in the sim that is updated every month! I recently read a comparison between NavBlue and Navigraph, it appears that only ILSs are not all there yet in NavBlue, but otherwise the databases are now equivalent. I did bring this point to Aivlasoft who replied they cannot have access to MSFS database.

@Jean-Claude We are still far away from a database updated every month from MSFS (NavBlue) if it will be ever the case, that I doubt.

The update you mentioned was the first one !

Best regards

Totally untrue. Navblue database is updated every month and has been since 5-6 months ago.
