Very dark cockpit in 5.2

I'm pretty sure it'll get updated relatively soon, as the FSL Scarebus add-ons require it for their lighting (the reason it was developed in the first place).

But their lights are working nicely on everything else but on FSL. No possibility to adjust lights in FSL bus. So bit of trade off...

Well everything else about 5.2 is such a leap forward, I can wait for the rest to catch up!

FSL just confirmed that a new version of Spotlights is already in testing and working well.

It appears to brighten both the virtual cockpit and the outside environment in my sim.

Same here - turning up Brightness turned everything up.

I use Lorby Flashlight (freeware) to lighten up the cockpit. It is brighter than the stock P3D flashlight.

Just watching a couple of YouTube videos with P3d v5.2.

I noticed that the users of the pmdg 777 With EA on the cockpit is not dark.
is that due to the fact that pmdg has a fix for that ? Or HDR is off?

It would be nice to have the qw 787 colour palette with EA off look into it with EA enabled.

Cheers

Probably because PMDG has yet to implement PBR VC textures for the 777 lineup.

There  should be an option in settings to turn PBR off for cockpit. As it’s far too dark.

FYI...Spotlights v5.0.0.3 has been released for P3D v5.2.  Available in the forums download page at http://www.flightsimlabs.com

Has anyone tried the mod talked about in the topic? Looks like great results.

Where in that file does that code go?

Just tested it with a friend on 5.2 and it works great. I had him open HDR.hlsl in a text editor and replace the following, see image https://prnt.sc/15ke1ff

With the lines from the P3D forums.

Which folder is this file in?

Thanks

Wow what a difference that made.

and tell me why LM and beta testers couldn’t  figure this out earlier???

Something as simple as this. Come on!!!’

I used the code, and it works nicely, but the contrast is indeed slightly lower than what I'd like. Is there any way to tune the contrast achieve a somewhat in-between look?
