No its not the same. I have a wide gamut monitor. 100% srb and about 89% argb. Pics can look very different if the app is not color aware so on my monitor of its not calibrated the colors look weird. It might be too saturated and the contrast is too high. And the browsers are color aware so they will display colors correctly

Simply look here https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/590558-water-masks-comparison/

What does this have to do with how the sim looks? That's talking about water mask being missing and they have already been added. Like I said before other than the water and particle of effects that's missing my sim looks the same and just like they added the water masks to the build we have, I'm sure those other effects will get added. Don't know why some of you guys just love to hang on to the negativity

So you are failing to see the difference in contrast and saturation of landmass between trailer and in game screenshot

It's pointless to discuss with certain users. Everybody can see that all the trailers we have seen so far are utter BS, Ubisoft style.

Who denies that is in bad faith, although I can't really figure what they have to gain in denying the evidence.

Well, there's a lag between the Internal version and the live version.

I took the time to compare this:

To the current version of the sim:

It's not like they are trying to "photoshop" their marketing material, it's just a different version (their version is more updated than ours).

Well, it is, not by adding fake elements or stuff like that,

But more by playing with color, light and contrast, the trailer picture above is way more dramatic than the in-game screenshot

For obvious reasons: different set of clouds, time of the day, wind etc. I changed the time of the day and the weather to make it possible to see it better (clear skies, 10 a.m.).

And I fail to see what effects you see on the marketing video we don't have on the actual simulator. It's been clear to me the enviroment changes a lot the way the simulator looks and for obvious reasons they will use presets to make it look appealing. Or do you think they should use misty weather at night to showcase the scenery?

Just because your pc is is not up to standards don't mean others are. If you game looks flat with no contrast and color it's obvious his monitor or setup is to blame. Same goes for you

Lovely water-mask that very likely will not make it into released version

Absolutely.  One of the qualities of MSFS is that it is quite good at portraying reality:  if reality is ugly, then the sim will show this.  Yes absolutely you want to showcase the best possible lighting, and indeed lighting is such a massive part of why visuals are so much better in MSFS over the competition.

Its straight sim capture. They didn't do anything like that.

Time of day and weather can change how things look. Plus it might have HDR enabled idk.

They've gotten better at that. Only one watermask was missing from what was shown in the last World Update trailer, and they added it in a hotfix

If you're referring to the image ca_metal posted, the bottom is the sim currently.

I’ve just thought of something. What will Xbox users do for head tracking? I assume track IR won’t work….

they won't have it.

I wouldn't be surprised that PC users actually using head tracking are a small minority.

Probably cuz to Modern gamers, track IR will seem as primitive as 8-track tape.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.
