MSFS - Xbox Series X|S Gameplay Trailer

Absolutely.  One of the qualities of MSFS is that it is quite good at portraying reality:  if reality is ugly, then the sim will show this.  Yes absolutely you want to showcase the best possible lighting, and indeed lighting is such a massive part of why visuals are so much better in MSFS over the competition.

To illustrate your point, no movie production just randomly walks outside and yells “roll camera”.  Reality is often (as Noel says) quite boring.  Cinematographers get paid a lot of money to frame/crop/relight the world into something we find beautiful enough to pay money to see.  MSFS perfectly simulates this phenomena 🙂

It’s possible they did color correction of the material, but I think it’s equally likely they just selected angles, compositions, and times of day that best show off the sim’s virtual world.

Watch from 1:13:00. Seb is indeed the one who said it.

Thank you for finding that! Very informative and appreciated. Looking forward to that as I think it has a huge impact on performance.

For obvious reasons: different set of clouds, time of the day, wind etc. I changed the time of the day and the weather to make it possible to see it better (clear skies, 10 a.m.).

And I fail to see what effects you see on the marketing video we don't have on the actual simulator.

The stuttering, mountain morphing and piercing set at zero, I can't find the sliders in the settings menu of my version of the sim 🙂

😀  I can't argue with that.  Hopefully the DX12 version of the sim they are displaying has managed to alleviate some of that.

What is 'piercing' though?  Was that a bit of the autocorrect for something else?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

These ribbons over mountainous terrain are annoying. I always thought that it was a botched rendering of streams as they most often follow the slope. I’ve seen less of them recently though.

Well, the console continues its unstoppable march towards domination.

Eventually, we might end up with this headline:

PMDG to release their products exclusively on the XBOX platform

Have you tried the new bush trip on the Pyrenees? It's a morphing and ribbons fest.

If they say it like that, it will still work on PC as well.

No

Lots of no's have become yes's over the years.
