Will the DC6 do the same is an open question as it is obviously more complex than anything on the market right now. Isn’t the CRJ the most complex paid aircraft on the market right now? Not sure why you would think the DC-6 is more complex than the CRJ. And the FPS for the CRJ is quite acceptable (that’s not to say PMDG will match Aerosoft’s efficiency but my guess is PMDG probably will). June 16, 20214 yr I think he quoted an fps of around forty if i remember correctly. But as has been stated, we don't know the specs of his PC. But i would think the CRj would likely have been higher down to the glass cockpit, i guess time will tell. The Double Wasp simulation seems quite refined compared to the one in the Milviz Corsair for instance which uses the same engine. Usually, coding used for those specific systems are not too fps intensive. It's usually the glass cockpits that display many information that lessens fps. The P3D version has close, if not the same, level of engine simulation as the MSFS version, and that gets amazing performance, close to the Majestic Dash-8 for me. Frankly, I think these people should actually address the title of their video, or have a "jam" session with their mates and followers .... You do not do both at the same time in my opinion. This is a rapidly expanding form of video and it is seriously annoying to me. I have got to the stage where, as soon as these shenanigans start, I am off to make a cuppa or just turn it off. I really enjoy what you do because you actually talk about the aircraft you are reviewing etc and have the occasional banter along the way which makes it entertaining as well as informative. I get the fact that a majority of these guys are actually making a living but it sure ain't my preferred form of suffering. Tony Fully agree. I didn't make it that far in. I can't be doing with the 'What are we doing?, Ooh, are we live?.....Why are we looking at empty runways.? The whole community is dying to see this product and he agreed to show it of for a short flight. I don't think anyone is suggesting that anyone does try that. But someone more familiar with the product could do that, which in fact PMDG pretty much already have done in their own series of videos on their channel. So this person could wait until they were more familiar with it before doing their take on it and adding something of their own based on their knowledge. But winging it with a live stream is just generally not a great way to make engaging or informed content from what I typically see of that kind of thing. I know streaming popular with 'da kidz', but it's usually pretty dire as a format and is invariably more about channel hits and revenue than it is about using the best format to convey decent information in a genuinely entertaining way which isn't full of padding. It's like the internet's version of the QVC shopping channel, where some tragic TV presenter, with their shattered dreams of fame written all over their face, has to talk for literally hours about some bedsheets which are on special offer discount, if you CALL NOW! June 16, 20214 yr Thank god for the previews. Looks great. Wont spend time commenting the format. Nobody really wants to read several pages about the format anyway. I do have a question: Did he give out any important information about the plane, feature or release date that we didn't already know? EDIT: Noticed in the stream that the gps unit that is present in p3d, fsx and xp is not showing in msfs. Instead, it is replaced with a radio unit. Is there no gps unit anymore? That would be surprising because official forum posts at pmdg indicate that they used the default gps unit from msfs. June 16, 20214 yr Commercial Member Im pretty sure Fabio can do whatever the hell he wants. And so do you. Let him do his thing, and keep away from his stream if you find it so unsufferable 😄 Nearly as many posts about Fabio than posts about the plane everyone is waiting for.

June 16, 20214 yr Does anybody know the backstory of why PMDG gave up on X-Plane? In the MSFS forums, somebody posted this: Quote Judging from their public posts, they determined over time that X-Plane didn’t give them a return on investment enough to justify the development costs (and the continual updating that X-Plane requires). They made a business decision to step away from it. As I’ve posted before - while I’m an admirer of PMDG, I don’t think their X-Plane adventure was their finest hour. The DC-6 arrived late in the X-Plane 10 development cycle and an X-Plane 11 update was a reasonable expectation - major add-ons typically cover two X-Plane versions before retirement. They really should have put the work in even if their longer-term plan was to back away. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/the-pmdg-dc-6-for-msfs-is-in-flight-test-heres-a-peek/409199/133 Another person posted this: Quote I think the XP market was too small to be profitable for them. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/the-pmdg-dc-6-for-msfs-is-in-flight-test-heres-a-peek/409199/132 Now I am super curious as to why PMDG dropped X-Plane. I don't want to start an MSFS vs X-Plane debate. I just want the facts on why PMDG gave up on X-Plane. I can only assume it's related to their sales on X-Plane. Edit: Okay, I saw this article which appears to be dated 2018, where Randazzo of PMDG says there may be future development on X-Plane. But on the PMDG website, people are reporting that they just removed the X-Plane section. What? That's a complete 180 degree turnaround from what Randazzo said in 2018. Ok, now I am even more curious. This is kind of confusing. Edited June 16, 20214 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
