Get to the point. No one has a 2hr+ attention span for a review.. Meat and potatoes..

IT WAS NOT A REVIEW, IT WAS A FIRST FLIGHT IMPRESSION. How hard is it for you to understand. He's flying the plane the whole week. He's learning like everyone else.

I respect that you don't like the format, but to change the entire concept of Twitch just so you can have your 5 min sneak peak wont happen. I am sure you can find 50 YouTube video next week. You can have DC-6 squirting out of your ears.

One for Props

Four for Throttles

One left over for...

Make sure you delete your Mixture axis for the Six.

I did 4 for throttle and one for flaps for now. I'm hesitating binding prop on one axis. I ether have them all or give them to FE! 🙂

All I can say there are a lot more annoying streamers on Twitch than Fabio that have no idea what they are talking about or doing. Same with some Youtube streamers.

Edit: someone asked about price, who knows except Robert at PMDG. It was 69 u.s.d for X-Plane and P3D.

The people whining in here are a lot more annoying than Fabio could ever hope to be. I thoroughly enjoyed is stream and his excitement was genuine and infectious.

I will be very curious how tough it is on the frame rates.

That's a good point and is the reason I will not be making a day one purchase.

This is the main issue for me too. MFS works quite well at high settings on my older rig with the aircraft I have. Will the DC6 do the same is an open question as it is obviously more complex than anything on the market right now.

The DC-6 does not have any fancy glass cockpit or systems to simulate. So im quite optimistic with its performance.

With P3D as a reference, the PMDG DC-6 is a lot better performing than say the FSLabs scarebuses, the PMDG boeings, and even the Aerosoft CRJ.

I expect this add-on to be better in performance than the MSFS Aerosoft CRJ.

I thought navigators of that period were able to home in on AM radio signals.

Oh they were ! But to home your aircraft to an AM station is not particularly easy if you have any wind across your trajectory. They are non directional (hence NDB). Way trickier than the good ole VOR ! These aircraft needed a full time navigator in the crew  !

They do - but not for tracking an NDB 😄. If you have trouble accurately tracking an NDB QDM or QDR (with a crosswind) as a pilot you should not be flying IFR.

At the beginning of the vid he was quoting FPS looking in the cockpit and outside.. I'm not going to quote him as I don't want to misquote. I'm not sure if he posts his PC specs which means a comparison will not be accurate.

I don't enjoy old airliners. However, watching this stream almost converted me... Almost!

I’ve watched the PMDG tutorials and may disagree with this specific point. The Double Wasp simulation seems quite refined compared to the one in the Milviz Corsair for instance which uses the same engine.

If you had the decency to sit thru the mans presentation, you would learn what he was getting for frame rates in external and cockpit view........
