Again, for people that didn't watch the stream or pay attention to the stream: the PC version of MSFS will remain on DirectX 11 after the July 27th update.

sad news indeed !

PC build will still be DX12.

Nope.  PC will be on DirectX 11 after the July 27th update.

i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

Never mind trees and DX12, did they say anything about fixing the terrain morphing? This has got to be the most horrible and overlooked problem.

When did they say this? I watched the stream and I didn't hear anything that would strongly support this. On the contrary, Jörg emphasised that PC and Xbox are essentially running the exact same version of MSFS.

Nope, that was a typo. Hence the “will still be”.

Don’t have any time stamps, but they said this (pc = dx11) will be clarified in the official forums.

It's super cleared. PC is DX11 for now. End of discussion. DX12 will come at a later date for PC..

Yes, but for anyone who didn’t watch the stream, it will need to be emphasized, as it will (edit:probably) be unexpected.

He said 'essentially', that doesn't make 100% identical.

I seem to remember he said "virtually" ... but same same... anyway, DX11 / DX12 would be a significant difference to me.

I don't care whether we get the performance improvements with DX11 or DX12, I just don't know where you all got the DX11 statement from. Right now rewatching the Q&A.

Edit: Any info as to which section they mentioned DX11/12 in?

Edit2: Ahhhh found it. They mentioned it in the context of grainy reflections, around 26:00...  Interesting, thanks!

True. They said on the stream that it doesn't go live until 8AM Pacific tomorrow.

yea ok. dont know why, but me and a few other dev friends have it already, so NDA starts for us. 🙂

should be tommorow, how exact were you able to download it so soon?

Im a dev so maybe thats why. we got an email directing us on the procedure to get it.

This was yet another enjoyable q&a. I think they‘re getting better and better. The devs appear to feel much more comfortable and confident than in the early ones when they  sometimes showed a slightly defensive attitude. Now they seem to enjoy it, that‘s probably why they’ve done so many q&a‘s lately. Looking forward to the next one and I hope they‘ll finally address the numerous terrain issues.
