I think people get this assumption that DX12 will magically fix things because of P3Dv5 AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display
June 30, 20214 yr Great work and improvement! Looking much smoother, and clearly the workload is more balanced. That and trees fix is a big step forward. CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,

June 30, 20214 yr " PC Improvements Sebastian explains that they have rewritten a lot of parts of the engine's architecture to improve CPU performance and reduce memory consumption. He is previewing a New York comparison between Sim Update 4 and Sim Update 5 on his personal developer PC. With the new update, the framerate is improved from 30-40 to 55-60 FPS, the RAM consumption has been reduced from 27GB to to 14,5GB, and the GPU is fully used since the CPU is no longer the bottleneck. The stutters are completely gone as well. " OMG! Edited June 30, 20214 yr by Nyxx David Murden. June 30, 20214 yr Really promising results with those increases in performance! Wasn't it like almost 50% gain? Performance for me is quite good already, and getting double digit percent improvements in addition to that is kind of mind blowing. June 30, 20214 yr So PC won't get DirectX 12 on July 27th. Looks like Sim Update 5 on July 27th will keep the PC version of MSFS on DirectX 11. Asobo said the team is still working on DirectX 12 for the PC version of MSFS. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

But what they have said is basically that it isn’t just like clicking a switch, and they would have to work on DX11 first, because it had still some space to do so. Now they are delivering the DX11 improvements, they might move to DX12. The sim engine is now more mature to move on. I think it was a smart move, it can avoid future issues.
