The twitch presentation looks somewhat decent but it would be nice to see how the sim performs in a more dense environment.

If you're basing it off the X-Box stream of MSFS, I wouldn't raise your expectation. The reason is, a lot of 3rd party add-ons aren't available for X-Box, primarily those add-ons that are not in the MSFS marketplace (is the Twitch stream of MSFS using vanilla MSFS without any add-ons?). The true test is on July 27th when us PC users get the update and test it against all our add-ons (a lot of the issues in this thread are based on what the PC beta testers disclosed to us and some of them are using 3rd party add-ons).

Don't worry a thing

Loading times are also good.

Even with an m.2 drive on pc, I've never seen it load as fast as it does on the Xbox.

There will be lots of scenery related CTD, but once they are updated, all should be good. I've been doing lots of flights with a few addons and the sim is very stable. No ctd or performance degradation

'68?  Wasn't that the year when N. Korean commandos raided the presidential compound?  Hope you missed that one.

While not directly affected at Camp Casey where I was stationed, my fellow tech geeks and I did encounter one unnerving experience along the DMZ while on a bi-monthly radio swap out sweep. Perhaps I'll remember to post that story in Hangar Chat one day. 😉

How fast was that Ian?  Faster loading would ceetainly be a bonus if it carries over to the PC. To be fair, I'm pretty happy with my performance overall, so a few extra FPS may not make a huge difference for me unless I decide to get a 1440 monitor, a VR headset or even go to 4k (none of which I expect to in the near future unless Santa is feeling particularly generous in a few months time).

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Seeing as I only have one add-on scenery, and really don't plan on downloading anymore, I think this update will be really good - for me.

Why are there so many NDA breakers in this thread?

Well, I still have faith in these developers, so long as they don't focus all on Xbox version and release a buggy SU for PC. A suitable and temporary hack would be to stop LOD popin's within close viewing distance, until a better and more permanent solution can be coded. Would still see a big jump in FPS and not the visual distractions close to aircraft.

The content on both systems is identical. They've said this from the beginning. So if something is buggy on PC, it will also be buggy on console (unless it's related to something that's only on PC, like certain peripherals/hardware, or third party addons.)

Isn't Xbox DX12, indicating a different code branch?

It's just a wrapper, not true DX12 if I understood that last Q&A correctly.

As long as I don't LOSE fps or the sim doesn't go backwards on performance...    😉

Kind regards,

Tim

Sorry "Bijan"

I'm not sure why the soft taunt is necessary. It doesn't encourage anything except more antagonism, does it?

But anyway, that draw distance around 2m 50s is... well... it's not what I'd personally like to see.
