ASUS Prime Z490-A / i7-10700K / RTX 4080 / G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB / Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic case

Relative to CTDs I saved my OC profile in the BIOS and went with the optimized defaults. No CTDs so far.

Alright, update was done just now, sim started to the new main menu alright, but then the marketplace and content manager didn't load anything. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

I was already running 1.18.13.0 as I was part of the Beta Flight. When trying to load MSFS this morning got caught up in the Game/Store loop for a bit. Finally after multiple trys and reboots, the Store finally did the update. Then after trying to load the game it was still saying I needed to update in the store. After a few more trys and restarts it finally got to “Checking for Updates” After 8-10 minutes it finally loaded the Update screen and now is reloading the ENTIRE sim AGAIN. NOT a Happy Simmer at the moment.

Exact same scenario.  But when it wanted to redownload the entire sim, i just pointed to my old installation location then it was a much smaller download.  Now its doing world updates

The one time I’m happy to say I won’t even get to try it until the weekend anyways so no sense in me even trying to get the update for the next couple days!

Bye bye stutters. Hello CTD’s.

Try disabling Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows settings.

You need to update it through the Windows Store.

Tried that of course and showing no update there either?!

Had to reboot. Windows store kept showing nothing until after sitting a while a 600MB update appeared finally.

Error Code: 0x80073D0D multiple times before it worked.

How does one lock the splash screen to 60fps?

I believe you need to use something like NVidia Profile Inspector, or whatever an AMD equivalent is, to set a framerate cap for the game.  Alternately, it seems like if you use a GSync monitor, dropping your refresh rate temporarily will also force a limit on it.   Or, at least, that works for me on the installation screen, not sure about the splash one.

Yeah I'm one hour in the update and I have 25%. Best thing to do is probably to wait til tomorrow.

Laminar Research customer -- Asobo/MS customer -- not an X-Aviation customer - or am I? 😉

For those wondering what is happening when the download pauses and shows "please wait", it's just decompressing the files you've just downloaded.

I've been downloading now for 2 hours 20 mins and only at 40%, so could even take 6 hours on a 45 mb connection, then as long again to update from the content manager and marketplace. Going to be a late night I think.
