Turn ai traffic off. It causes CTD.

Gaming Laptop:
MSI GS75 Stealth 5.6GHz Intel Core i9 - 10th gen 16 core CPU  -  32 GB DDR4 SDRAM  - 1TB SSD - RTX 2080 Super - 1920x1080 - 3 fans and cooling pipes.

Quote from the other thread.

"Every time I look around (track IR), it looks like a blast wave went off around me, rendering things. It takes about 1 second to load fully, so it's enough to take you out of the experience and remind you you're in a fake world. So that sucks."

Hope they'll give those with faster systems some sliders for this at some point, but for now looks like the trade-off is pop-ins for faster performance.

So setting to 400/400 is not a big FPS hit?

Let's say if you get 70 FPS, you lose 5. Which is still plenty to spare.

It’s a pity for you guys.

Zero stutters here. Silky smooth. Locked at 30fps.   But I get very long pauses of not responding for at least a full minute. Then comes back to life.  Cant figure that out. Quite annoying. Played with all kinds of settings , closing any extra programs, to no avail.

I mean I generally don't pan around super fast but I will withhold judgement until I can get the update downloaded myself.

That's the new normal in SU5. As I mentioned before, only the scene in front of you rendered in full resolution. The left and right are low resolution and not rendered until you pan and look at them, then the scene starts to redraw and render to full resolution.

As mentioned before too, nothing is for free.

Quoted from Asobo "this is one of the side effect to gain performance"

I'm almost finished downloading SU5. I would will be very unhappy if I notice this when I start up MSFS.

I didn't have any issues or complaints with MSFS with any stuttering, LOD distance, or FPS. I don't think i needed any performance increase especially at the expense of this "feature".

I even stated in another post how happy I was with the visual qualities of MSFS with me not no noticing any real pop ups, etc, and I was happy with my pc ability to MSFS on high. I was not greedy; I didn't need ultra. I guess extra FPS would be great, but what good is a few more FPS if other things are "right in my face"?

Plus I thought the extra smoothness and any FPS increase would be from better "coding" or whatever those software wizards do and not from this "shortcut". Wasn't this down in FSX where people complained about looking at a cloud or a building, looking away, then back and it's gone? Might kill immersion a bit.

Heck, we all could have had better performance by lowering our settings. The difference is: we would have the option of what we wanted to lower to get the better performance or deal with lower performance but have better visual qualities.

This is a step backwards. So, if I am reading this correctly, even if I buy a 4000 video card next year, I might notice this re-drawing if I look out the side window because a 4000 or a 8000 series video card will not fix this "feature"?

Don't flame me, but I have to BET this to be to help the Xbox run this software. This is to benefit the Xbox users over the PC users, imho. Well, then again, with out the Xbox-ers maybe we don't get a pc version.

Yes, flying normally is stutter free and I get 100fps with airliner over LAX at 8000 feet. Those long pauses did happen from time to time. I thought they fixed that.

I don't blame you at all. I feel there should be options for high end pcs to avoid these.

I have a RTX 3090 and only 1/4 is used at most. Same with CPU.

I barely noticed anything. Is it something you would've noticed if you had the FPS counter off? Looks super smooth and fluid to me.

Oh yea, especially if I pan very fan. Look at all of the red sticks and how much it drops in the counter.
