CTD with the latest dev build of FBWA320

Featured Replies

This is the only problem I have with SU5. Even with the latest hot fix. I have tried clean installing the fbw mod as well. But it keeps crashing every time I load up. I'm running out of ideas.

Wait for FBW to patch it.

I have already stated in my 1st post that I already did a clean install. And yes, it even happened before the hotfix.

Is that the FBW A320 from the MarketPlace?

No, it's the dev version. The market place version is the stable version which hasn't been updated to work with SU5 yet.

Anyways I got it working now.

Same for me with stable and dev - but the experimental version works fine!

Before todays hotfix I too had the sim crashing when loading up the aircraft. After the hot fix I can now fly the aircraft but I have the following :

  • cannot enter managed heading, the button is unresponsive (it does change to a nice {!} colour when the mouse hovers over}
  • managed speed is unresponsive
  • the default position of the throttles seems to be in full reverse thrust

and I hate the way the buttons change colour when the mouse hovers over them. So I look forward to an update from the FBW team.

On top of this all my pre-set control setting are gone. It is almost like going back to last August 😊

I have the DEV version installed

I am. And the few times I manage to get in the plane I have strange texture glitches, taxi and landing light switches don't work and the plane fails to climb over FL300.

Most probably this is related to your liveries. I had this problem too, I removed all the links to the liveries for all airplanes and re-instate them five by five to see which one is (are) the culprit(s). This means that my AI traffic is back with Asobo liveries as well, but at least no more CTD.

You don't have to wait for that, simply change your settings to the old one and you're done (sorry can't remember the exact name for it and I am away from my sim PC, I think it's Legacy). But you can definitely remove these new blue feature that were added to make life easier for X-boxers...

To all who are experiencing difficulties with FBW a320. This is what worked for me.

Delete the folder from community

Get FBW installer and install the development version (per FBW)

Start MSFS 2020 and enjoy. I am now ninety minutes into my test flight I built yesterday to test SU5. Yesterday, CTD’s, white screen on EFB and random altitude jumps at cruise.  Today all is nominal and I am quite pleased. I believe you too can have similar nirvana if you take my advice! 🙂

Uninstalled the FBW and it seems it cured my CTDs. Have not tested the hotpatch though.
