It's hard to say how much of that is bandwidth degradation from server load or some other speed issue. That looks a bit too severe to be anything other than pure bandwidth degradation. However, we all know that if you fly high enough it can look pretty blurry, the LOD settings in the UserCfg do help this. I do notice buildings have lost some sharpness when moving with the camera, but it could just be my setup or settings. I can see a significant reduction in motion resolution when panning the camera compared to the crystal clarity I used to get.

not sure i understand ? , i think it looks great , then i shall have glasses 😀

Don't mean to sound "macho" or anything, but my eye is pretty well trained for these types of comparisons, because I spent numerous hours skewing the countryside fixing elevation issues. When I see these screenshots, what I notice is the trees are somewhat sharp directly under the plane, but as you go out towards the horizon it gets a bit blobby looking. I remember how sharp things looked when I was editing West Virginia about 8 months ago. Also, there was always some haze in some situations, but now the haze does seem a lot more pronounced and denser.

fair enough but i am not trying to compare real live images with MSFS 😀, i wanted to say my sim looks more like Pic 1 and 3 on 2 pages back where Bob has issues

Michael, have you got a HDR monitor?

I am going to have to keep playing with my settings, because the motion resolution in my setup is terrible with the dev mode camera.

10k feet near Juan-les-Pins France I think, just took this screenshot. Its a blurry mess compared to before TBH, but not all my flights look this bad. I don't know whats up, bandwidth degradation or settings issue maybe... This definitely doesn't compare to what I had in the past, it's so far off that I literally almost cringe when I see it.

That´s close to the effect I am getting too, where all autogen is a light white bulb , dynamic range and color balance is lost and everything gets blurry and hazy.

Did you read the whole thread?   He didn't ask for "judgement".  He's (helpfully) providing screenshots of areas where others have seen poor quality visuals, so a comparison can be made.

The pc visuals have been degraded to allow an xBox to run at 30fps. It's that simple. Rightly or wrongly there is no getting away from this fact. If some people are happy that's great. The code for this sim is now optimised for XBox, it's an XBox game, and I don't imagine this situation will ever change.

They may have achieved some optimisations but couldn't quite get there and resorted to degrading the visuals.

I agree, what you see is what you get ( forever I am afraid).

It might be your settings are not sticking, what they say and what you get can be two dirrent things, next time pause and set setting to Ultra, save then look again, if you on ultra set to low, save, set to ultra save, go look.
