WT G1000 nxi updated

The VFR map and other GPS units will not sync with the NXi. This is expected, as we are using a new custom flight plan system and customized autopilot.

The new flightplan system is one thing we're putting a lot of focus on, as the intention is to port it into the sim proper in the medium term. However, we will not make the NXi the default G1000 until such time, because it will remain somewhat incompatible in varying ways until that work is complete.

So anytime we want to use the GTN 750 we need to uninstall the NXi, correct?

@MattNischan, are you going to introduce entering into a teardrop pattern for a hold at the IAF?

Right now, flying KTPA-PIE-FITPA-hold for the R01L approach involves entering the hold with a left turn, immediately followed by a right turn to enter into the holding pattern.  This should be a diagonal entry with a teardrop to follow..

If you intend to use the GTN750 as the master, then yes. If you don't really care and you're using the NXi for navigation, then no.

Properly vectorized hold entry patterns are coming in the next release, indeed!

This is correct.  Whenever I want to use the 750 I remove the NXi and restart the sim after adding the regular WT g1000 mod, GTN750 and proper aircraft package(s).  It all works well.

Thanks. Hope in the future we can have both installed and pick the one we want to use for a flight without having to uninstall the NXi and exit the sim.

Did a complete flight yesterday with the default blue livery, and my engine issues didn't manifest themselves.

I'm very pleased with the G 1000 NXi. It's on track to becoming my favorite avionics suite in the sim. It seems smoother and more responsive than what's currently available in the G 3000 in the sim.

Thanks, WT guys, and keep up the great work!

I think this was answered already in another post but I can’t find it. Is there a manual (official or otherwise) available online for this?

Well, there's the official Garmin manual (just type Garmin g 1000 NXi manual pdf into Google, and it should take you there), and there are also a handful of youtube videos.

I don't think the WT guys have put together a manual yet.

Is it possible yet to use flight plans with custom waypoints?

I created a sightseeing VFR flight with Little Navmap and exported the flight plan as a *.pln file to MSFS. It's loaded correctly in the MSFS world map but after starting the flight the G1000 NXi just shows a direct route between the two airports.

I suppose, because it is so realistic, we should just use the official Garmin G100NXi manual really, and WT can just tell us about any specific differences.
It saves them time to concentrate on the important stuff!

I am not sure if there are any legal implications with WT telling us to download the official Garmin manual, so it might be best to just go down that fairly obvious route ourselves.
Plus there are a few guys on here offering help with the unit if we need it.

EDIT:  It is really easy to find the pilots guide on line - 456 numbered pages, plus a few more for the indexes etc., but there is also the cockpit guide, which is a more reasonable 150+ pages, and might be enough.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Next update will fully support importing custom waypoints and POIs from world map

customized autopilot.

I have to wonder if this customized autopilot might, eventually, replace the default autopilot which I find unstable and quirky.  I don't imagine that FS2020 wants to keep the old one around nor expect that every airplane integrated into the sim will create their own.

Has anyone had any issues with the NXi and Navigraph data in the sim?
