August 4, 20214 yr It's a bureaucracy, they have to have meetings through the chain of command and everything has to be run by certain people first. So the timing is about as good as it gets, unless they give someone freedom to just quickly say exactly what they want to fix. If they do the second thing, it will be premature and they may end up claiming to fix bugs that don't exist. Which presumably isn't what is happening here, though I can see that conspiracy theory brewing right now. Edited August 4, 20214 yr by Alpine Scenery AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram

If it was an objective list of complaints with no emotion attached im of the opinion we wouldn't see action on these issues till the next Service or world update. That's my opinion. Im sure people are going to jump in and have contrary ones but I've only seen hotfixes issued only if the sim doesn't start and there's an uproar. So uproar it is. Brilliant idea! Now, we have the same volume no matter the size of the problem and we make the developers feel horrible!

Right now, I get 30 sustained FPS, but will report what my 1070 gets after Friday or Monday with Ultra, but with Bloom turned off.

As a software developer myself I just say this: thanks Asobo, I know how much work this means and I know how word not allowed customers are 🙂 Customers are those who make your paycheck as a software developer possible. And if what you deliver is a downgrade full of bugs, they have all rights to be crossed. A.

I agree with everything you say if I can put into into some perspective. My own obviously... Firstly, you are maybe closer to the developers so have more of an understanding of how things work and what is going on. I know you think the Asobo guys are good guys (I also believe they are), and you don't appreciate some of the disrespectful criticism you have seen thrown out there towards them, so I understand your response. Anyway, was it you that posted that saying earlier, something like 'it is not just about having patience, but it is about the manner in which you wait?' Very true. It is very easy (for most) I think to get to that state - all that makes it easier is a bit of recognition. If I am waiting in a big queue at a long bar, all it takes is for the bar person to look me in the eye and nod (OK fella - I see you!) All of the doubt about being recognised goes away. I can wait a really long time now, and in the right manner. Everything will be OK All we had for quite a while was a small message from a community manager at the bottom of a closed thread and something about triaging unspecified stuff, and (like you say) quite a small, but vocal minority telling people they were cry babies for going on about the environmental lighting, which wasn't nice, and I was even doubting myself some times. I was even comparing my screen to old screen grabs and real photos wondering if I was indeed going crazy, and maybe it was all good! So I know there has been a weekend involved in between, and there are certain working hours in France, and there are holidays involved this time of year, and a stressful environment for the developers, but a simple 'yes, we notice the lighting and we are looking into it' would have gone a really long way and took a lot of the heat out of it. (it may have even stopped the pathetic bun fight in these forums). We do get a bit over emotional at times, as we love the sim and want it to be the best thing ever, but I have personally just spent six or seven nights trying to get the lighting half decent, without knowing if Asobo see the same, and if they will attempt to fix it so I don't have to bother, all the time while people are posting photos showing that the lighting is great - it is my perception - there is nothing wrong with it. So, there is a lot of human nature involved with this, and like anything else, sometimes just the simplest, shortest communication, like a nod or a wink, goes a long way to taking the heat out of it. As for the abusive idiots with the throw-away remarks, that is of a different level - they will never come close to understanding. Anyway, I hope you haven't taken any criticism to heart personally, or if you have, I hope you don't let it stick. You guys at WT are smashing it. I especially love the new NX - superb! You must be really pleased with what you have built there - I know I am! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). Next hotfix will come which will increase the quality of the textures even higher level than WU4 and then with it, a performance hit may arise due to this (at our request of course) as long it is in the acceptable level, shouldn't be a problem, there is nothing free in this world. However, what it scares me now is, there will be other camp complaining about performance hit and demand the sim goes back to SU5 HF1, it will be an endless loop and ping pong 🤣 There are sliders (if they work) for those who prefer performance rather than visual quality. I really hope nobody is going to be sad because they cannot play on fake-ultra. But yes, admittedly I have seen stranger things happen. So it IS indeed possible. Time will tell. A.
