It's only 'fake news?' when new reveals make for another opinion. I so laugh at the 'fake news' moniker that was a political party/executive of the day---injection phrase, and has nothing to do with anything else, really. 🙂 I believe that the dismal performance suggested highly that was the case...but with the latest release,  that is less of a speculated probability. Nothing 'fake' about that...merely a new data set to currently make judgement upon.  This 'fake news' moniker, is just that...a moniker invented by a prior political administration, and those administrations get voted in...and voted out, every four years, like the tide.

Exactly: the important part in "fake news" is "fake".

Since the quality degradation was, and in part still is after the second hotfix, real, there was nothing fake about it.

Reality manipulation is a sad malpractice.

Sim looks good, a bit overexposed and a bit blurry in the distance. This is everything on Ultra - both LOD at 200 at 3440x1440. Flying over the Bahamas.

Oh, how do I get rid of the top bar arrow? It's not going away since SU5.

I agree with you about overexposure, and perhaps some oversaturation. Also the distant blurriness is noticeable.

While we have to wait for the latter until they give us the promised sliders, maybe some expert can find a solution for the oversaturation? I dare not play with the color settings in the NVidia panel, but I wonder if we can improve the visuals there.

A much better sky indeed! Suggestions to avoid oversaturation?

These are just default high settings. Live time and weather. I think I was just lucky that where I am isn't very bright? But it's Hawaii, so lol

The Nvidia GEForce Experience game filters are not intrusive. You are not in danger to waste essential settings of your computer or game. You tune them to your liking and swicth them off whenever you wish. Extremely simple to use.

Nothing special. 5600x CPU, RTX3070 GPU, 32 GB RAM running from an M.2 1TB SSD.

Only running at 1920x1200 though until I can find a better monitor at a decent price.

Looks pretty fantastic with the water masks and Bahamas turquois ocean. Just Flight Turbo Arrow with Nat Geo livery.

Do any of the people praising the graphics quality after SU5 fly in VR?  My experience is that AA is worse and clouds (set at Ultra) now look much worse than SU4.  I do agree everything looks quite good in 2D now and only wish that was the case in VR.  I am enjoying the moderate FPS boost since SU5 though, so as a whole I think I prefer SU5 HF2 over SU4.

This applies to 2D flying only: I would recommend after loading in a new flight to always switch Global Rendering Quality in your graphics settings to Low, apply and save - and then switch back to Ultra and apply/save to get your ultra settings to actually "take".  I have found without doing this, even though settings may say Ultra, you are actually getting something less than that. (this has been confirmed even after HF2)

Distant blurriness is normal in real life, at least on planets with an atmosphere! Its absence in MSFS would be a cause for complaint.

I did a huge test tonight in the hardest FPS aircraft I have, the PMDG DC-6.

A flight from KSBA to KSAN VOR-VOR,FL150...LOD set to 400/400.

Not one.....yes not one stutter or one pause, nothing perfect smoothness and never droped below my 30FPS locked. This SU5 is full of bugs but the smoothness its amazing.

Just over KLAX 15,000 LOD 400/400 Sharping ON.

If you look please look at full res and fullscreen. Its was live weather so it was hazy, saddly.

Depends how you describe distant.  My sim after hotfix one was blurry a few miles away.  I won't get to see hotfix 2 for a few days yet so my fingers are crossed

Have you set anisotropic filtering to 16x in NVCP (if you’re using Nvidia…)? It’s bugged in-sim for many of us and won’t be effective unless forced to in NVCP.
