Looks awesome.

It's listed in Orbx Central, but when trying to purchase it, it says "resource not found" or something along those lines.

It has not been released yet, as best I can tell.

as an MSFS newbie, are their any payware or freeware airports that people recommend checking out?

Well, sceptical here, why they do not provide comparison screenshots? Already for their NZ mesh they were missing until it was req ested several times... But of course, if the mesh is as good as the NZ one, it is for sure worth it.

Greetings, Chris

Where... in Alaska?

Bert

Haven’t bought any their other mesh yet but this one certainly has my attention!

Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

Looks fantastic. Definitely a big improvement. The only downer is that there‘s quite a few larger areas with poor imagery. At least last time I checked.

Indeed.  The mesh will be an instant purchase for me, but the vast areas of terrible ground imagery are still a major issue for Alaska.  It was always my favorite area to fly in other sims, but i hardly fly there in MFS as it's about as visually appealing as large parts of Asia due to horrible ground textures.

I've compared Bing maps to Google in lots of Alaska and Bing really need to get their act together! (that goes for the whole planet really...  Googles imagery is way ahead. It's no surprise that absolutely no one uses Bing maps over Google)

Alaska, strangely enough, is the poor relative in the MFS family at all levels. The native mesh is not really good, very FS9ish, where I tried it. So the OrbX product is very welcome. Hoping also for better imagery. I tried once the bush trip out of Kodiak and gave up after half an hour. The OrbX landclass product plus a mesh were, I am afraid to say, better. And the snow in summer in Haines...

They're pretty much one of the best there is.

Unfortunately I don't really see the use of an improved Alaska mesh for me as long as the imagery for Alaska is as poor as it is right now.

Which is a shame.
