August 21, 20214 yr So Elon warms of the dangers of AI and thinks that AI will take over the world... but is building a robot. 😏 Quote Tesla is building a humanoid robot “sometime next year” called the Tesla Bot, announced at the company’s AI Day event. The robot will use the same artificial intelligence that the electric car company uses for its vehicles, will be approximately 173 centimetres tall (5ft 8in), weigh around 57kg, and be built from “lightweight materials” with a display somewhere on its body to show information. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/elon-musk-tesla-robot-ai-humanity-b1905884.html Edited August 21, 20214 yr by martin-w
August 21, 20214 yr If I thought that some goofball company like Facebook was building robots, I think I'd try to build my own before FB cornered the market.
August 22, 20214 yr I, for one, welcome our robotic overlords. 😜 Joel Murray @ CYVR (actually, somewhere about halfway between CYNJ and CZBB)
August 22, 20214 yr See Issac Azimov's Three Laws of Robotics that he wrote about in the 1950's: Perhaps in the next few years, they may have to be required in some AI software?

I think something like that may be incorporated in the future. I mean we have been warned about the possibility since Asimov and before. All it takes is one rogue operator to not incorporate the safeguards. Elon does amuse me though, he warns of Dire consequences of AI and robots... then develops AI and robots. 🤣
August 22, 20214 yr He is building a MINI ME 🤣 But really if you can't hire the most ideal personal assistant, make one yourself 👍 Edited August 22, 20214 yr by Matthew Kane Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

Although I fully expect it to be like most sci-fi movies of that ilk, where it starts out all: 'What is to kiss? 'What is love?', then two minutes later it's 'Must kill!' 'Destroy humanity!' There'll be none of that 'How about a nice game of chess, professor Falken'?' this time. Expect to see his creation running amok in about two year's time, wearing Elon's head as a hat whilst hacking into NORAD's computers in an attempt to start WW3. Actually if they're going to make a Tesla Bot, shouldn't it be shaped like a pigeon? Edited August 22, 20214 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
August 22, 20214 yr I'll wait for the introduction of the NS-5 model. 😁 My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
August 22, 20214 yr Maybe he'll succeeds and actually makes an affordable and safe robot to do boring jobs in the house and around, that would be quite something. If he doesn't succeed he at least paves the way for others to further built upon, mistakes are the building blocks for better ideas. Either way, imo this is bound to be important for the development of automation. August 23, 20214 yr I don't think many will care about AI robots taking over once the Cherry 2000 models are released.😉 Edited August 23, 20214 yr by dave2013 Simulator: P3Dv6.1 System Specs: Intel i7 13700K CPU, MSI Mag Z790 Tomahawk Motherboard, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Video Card, 3x 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 2280 SSDs, Windows 11 Home OS My website for P3D stuff: https://sites.google.com/view/thep3dfiles/home
August 23, 20214 yr Author Elon does make me raise an eyebrow sometimes. In his presentation he referred to Tesla AI in his cars to be "semi-sentient". That has to be the most ridiculous claim he's ever made. There's no such thing as semi-sentient, you either are or you aren't, and no, his AI in his cars is a million miles away from sentient or "true AI".
