 A point not lost on me, but I think most people's issues with the likes of Discord is the lack of user-friendliness, particularly to the newcomer or casual user. Forums like AVSIM are usually fairly easy to navigate (even if the search function here rarely works very well!). Plus, there are a great many computer users who are resistant to change - good grief, Usenet still exists after more than 40 years!😁

I forgot to add a red flag I've seen: for some servers (for example, FBW and Fenix), they pretend me to verify by giving my phone number. Isn't my email enough?

Emails can be programmatically generated and then abused to create an unlimited amount of accounts.

We would not have enabled the option if we didn't need it - the reality is that for a server of this size we kinda need it, otherwise it's trolls all around. Keep in mind we never get access to either your email or phone number - this is all handled by Discord themselves.
