xBox app - so this is why! %&&^%$##

So after the need to install the Xbox app yesterday as one frustrating step toward WU6, I boot up this morning and instead of my Windows desktop I greeted with an open, full screen, Xbox app.  Multiple words not allowed!  I am not a gaming enthusiast other than flight simulation, and I do not consider it that way.

Task Manager, Startup, scroll to Xbox, right-click, disable.

What is wrong with you guys? It's just a workaround to deal with issues they were having with their store. Downloading the app does not suddenly turn you into a console casual. Seriously, calm down.

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

You can uninstall the app now that MSFS is updated.

Also you could have just disabled it starting with windows in the app’s options menu.

Go into the Apps settings and disable the app startup when WIN10 starts.

LOL ROFL.  Come on guys.  Did you read my post?  Already said right up front I had disabled the app from starting.

Krakin: My objection is that they positioned it to start up and be full screen in my face each time my system starts!  I rather hugely object to that on their part.  And there is nothing wrong with me about feeling and expressing that sentiment.  I do not appreciate nor allow anyone to make that form of changes to my system without clearly, up front, gaining my permission.  Up front!  Up front!  Starting an app in my face each time my system starts is not a workaround to deal with issues with their store.

I also guess that totally removing the app will trigger the same circus of events with future updates.  So I have only disabled it from Windows Startup.

Simply go into settings and turn off the option to start up automatically. Done. 🙄

Deactivate Xbos App services in the task manager.

You don’t even need to do that. There’s an option in the app. You just uncheck a box. Seriously.

This is very similar to the issue where people just feel like they must delete the extra default liveries, possibly causing issues later.

Why not just leave them alone, or not use them? Are they flashing in bright day-glow colors while making whoop whoop noises? How are they bothering people? Over the years, I've just gotten the impression that OCD is a big part of simming.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

How long did that take, compaired to how long before you read the work around to DL the update?

So how long did "Task Manager, Startup, scroll to Xbox, right-click, disable." take,30 seconds?

Carm down, really!🙂
