Welcome to the MSFS SU's and WU's. And don't forget about having the same in November, just less than one month from now!

Cheers, Ed

Flying the new Mosquito in DCS tonight instead! highly recommend in case anyone else is looking to burn some hours with something else flying-related. Took these just now:

This is why I hate online games. I have 2 hours before I have to record a podcast. Thought "that's perfect for a CRJ flight!" Now, I have no game to play AND two hours to kill. Ugh

As those who recognised my username and profile picture can guess, this would be the one add-on that would tempt me to buy anything to add to the base sim.

Well look at you, all high and mighty, using a program that works (and looks really really good!).

I am having the same issues,

Is it OK to close the update or just leave it and hope it connects later on? I got to 16.13MB before I got disconnected. I haven't even paused it, currently the window is open where it got kicked off.

I tried leaving mine on for a fair while, but it never tried to reconnect. Your profile gets flagged as "Offline" so it doesn't even attempt to get past that. The whole system is so unutterably DUMB. The servers have been down SIX HOURS now.

UPDATE: SEVEN HOURS now.

From a consumer/legal point of view, I'd say MSFS is bordering on "Not fit for the purpose", as it works with extremely limited functionality when in offline mode.

Thoroughly cheesed off

JFC this is infuriating!

The worst part is that the download servers themselves are working fine, I was getting 25mbps until the error.   The authentication servers being offline seems to interrupt the update download that has already started?  C'mon man, at least let us finish downloading and installing the update while we wait for the auth servers to be fixed.  Better yet, let us defer updates for a week or so to the product is still usable when these fiascos happen.

Well, I gave up for the night.  I wasn't actually planning to fly anyway until a few addons got updated, mostly wanted to test performance changes for a potential VR purchase coming up.  Just gonna go do some exploring or mining in Elite Dangerous which a friend recently got me into and is giving MSFS some serious competition for my available play time.

I just tried again and still the same,

Hopefully tomorrow will bring more luck. I just hope things didn't get screwed up. Bedtime it is then
