It makes one wonder why they changed it in the first place, when apparently no one is happy with this hideous sepia mask. It‘s a mystery to me really. But it‘s good to see that they‘re improving it. I never understood why people thought it was so good. I think the sepia mask was an issue initially with the glowing terrain but I think they have moved the sepia mask out to the proper distance on this build and it looks great and very realistic. I am wondering if all of those that liked the Alpha lights have spent any time flying at night IRL..?? There’s a huge thread on this issue over at the official fs forums. All The info and comparisons there. Also the night time needs to be a tad bit darker. Even on a full moon clear night it’s way too bright. Edited October 24, 20214 yr by Ridvan Celik

October 24, 20214 yr From far above, it looks great, but love to slowly get closer and have more night lighting details revealed. Thank goodness they restored the night lighting to where it was initially and vastly improved upon this. Well done Asobo, my best hat off for you! It is incredibly realistic and immersive.

Not sure about bright but moonlit night skies might be a bit on the blue side? The last few nights have been some of the brightest full moon nights of the year in real life as well. Woke up at like 3am the other night and thought a light was on in the yard it was so bright in our room. Most nights our yard is like a black hole once the lights are out, the last few nights you could see all the way to the river so I think Asobo actually nailed it. Change the date and you should see dark skies again... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

And real life flying under a full moon is a mesmerizing experience in particular. You almost have as good VFR navigation capabilities as daytime, especially if you use shorelines, bodies of water as cues. On a waning moon night, or even a new moon, flying over rural areas can be sort of dangerous - must look to instruments often - there seems to be no horizon and everything is so dark. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
