Which planes are worth it right now?

I second that, I still have couple of issue with ILS interception, TOD not appearing, HUD even if not collimated is pretty useless and buggy and even if not their fault, you can't use MSFS flight planner nor database.

About the forum, it's pretty bad, I had issues with engine power going all over the place, for two weeks they strongly accused my hardware, until they confirm it was an issue with their code.

My best experience so far with addon is with the CJ4, A320NX, DC6 and a couple more freeware

Totaly agree at how bad AS are, and there forums are a joke.

If you use simbrief for your flight if you dont add a MXXXX e.g M4000 to the CRJ profile simbrief will sometime put the TOC and TOD to close and you get no TOD, Since I added that a few months ago ive not seen a missing TOD and it has captured the GS perfect everytime unlike the first version that was terrable. The HUD does not work ATM but thats not AS fault and I never use it anyway. It also still does not save IRS to realistic setting in option. So I have to set that everytime after C&D.

I read a post about the IRS setting not saving and Mr Kok saying the normal boo " we dont see that at our end, all good here" on the second page says " we dont know why but Asobo changed something...." Never goto them forums I would sooner stick a pin in my eye.

out of all the planes I have, and unfortunately that's quite a few, there are 2 that I regularly fly time after time after time,  so to me, that's my recomendation...

1)  DC-6 as mentioned by many others...

2)  BN-2 as mentioned by nobody...  But yeah, okay it's slow, but it's a wonderful plane to fly and really sounds the part with every switch operational and you can properly cold and dark it and fly it by the book if you want.

All the others mentioed here I have but have maybe flown each one a couple of times and then given up in either frustration or disgust 🙂

DC6 is the best in MSFS, and if you think a Cruise speed of 311 MPH is slow, oh well....

For GA aircraft, I like the Carenado Seminole.

The WT CJ4 is quite good. I was just learning that one recently as a way in to jets, as i normally fly GA. It has a wonderful tutorial by Matt of working title and filbert flies of flightsim on youtube too.

Another vote for the dc6 - I didn’t pick it up until a few days ago as I didn’t think it would be for me, flew it a few times and can already tell it’s a the top of the list, it feels very immersive, gives me the feeling that things are actually moving and breathing instead of it just being programming code.

I also really enjoy the carenado mooney and Seminole. I have the crj, flew it a couple times and that was it, just not my kinda aircraft, but in the few times I flew it I wouldn’t say it’s horrible (again only flew a few short flights so didn’t get to much testing it)

Wow my FE only sets cruise power and speed is around 220KTS 251 MPH, A far cry from 311MPH, PMDG should get you to be the FE bob. Your the Man 🙂💗

But if 250MPH is fast for an airliner they we go. Its fast🙂 I Stand corrected. O well...hanging head in shame....

I have both the DC-6 and BN-2 and recommend both...finally bought the BN-2 yesterday on sale but am loving it so far...lots of repaints available, handles nicely, love it.

Also recommend the CJ4 with mod and the Longitude with mod and nice repaints is actually a favorite of mine.

For fighters like the free ones from Sim Outhouse a lot even though I own several payware jet fighters...oh and I have the $10 USD Pipsqueak from Asobo and really like that too.

I'm getting search fatigue. I'm sure some of you have been there. There are tons of modded freeware planes, sub-par payware, planes good for one trip, etc. I'm looking for a high quality, realistically modeled (systems, flight dynamics, etc), payware/payware quality airplane. I'm really looking forward to the PMDG series as well as the Fenix and others. So just looking for something to hold me over till those get released. Any suggestions?

Not really sure which type of aircraft you are looking for, but if you're interested in high-end airliners, the Leonardo Maddog (one of the most accruate, detailed and complete aircraft ever made for flight sim) for MSFS will be handed over to the test team (top three test teams in flight sim) very shortly, and historically speaking it doesn't take long for the testing.

Best wishes!

Yeah, I'm hoping to get it for testing before Christmas!  Of course we're sworn to secrecy until just prior to release, but as I always do I'll seek permission to post about it as soon as possible.

I am tempted by the BN-2, I remember the one on FSX.

Is it available on MSFS store?

The Aerosoft CRJ is awesome. So is the DC-6. Those two top my list.
