What about the official release date for this hotfix ??

Would/should their be an official release date when they stated they are awaiting feedback/approval from the public beta?

Will be announced (or just rolled out?) when it's ready to be released.

I swear something happened w/ the alignment of clickspots post SU7.  Is this, if it's not a hallucination on my part, being addressed in the beta?

I'd expect a statement on their Thursday Development Update.

I turned lens correction off and it’s fixed it. Not sure if lens correction is needed anyways in 4K? Thought it’s was for widescreen..?

I am speculating, but I think the hotfix will probably be released before the Christmas holidays start in France.

I think the plan from Microsoft/Asobo is to do the hotfix so that MSFS players have a stable SU7 with the fixes in to play for the Christmas holidays.  At the same time, I doubt Jorg or Sebastian want any of the workers at Asobo (or Microsoft) working over the Christmas holiday so I can't see it being released between the Christmas holidays to New Years.  And releasing it next year would be a pretty long wait for the MSFS community for just a hotfix.

So based on this, I am speculating the hotfix will come out before the Christmas holidays start in France, probably no later than December 23rd.

No this happened since SU7 - my click spots are somewhat to the left of buttons and switches. The beta hotfix has not fixed it.

Clouds look better on my set up though, no clouds lying on the ground so far. METARs not very accurate, particularly wrt OVC METARs.

Hopefully someone will report it while they have Asobo's attention, unless that is strictly forbidden due to the scope of the beta.  I guess I can still sign up for the beta?

I just did.  How is information gleaned by testers conveyed to Asobo?

Isn't it about how our eyes and cameras adjust to quickly going from looking at something bright to dark? It also simulates how washed out bright scenery looks outside the cockpit when focusing your view on the panel.

I believe the intended purpose of lens correction is to compensate for geometry distortion in a wide field of view (aka the "fish eye lens effect"). The adjustment is very minor - even on a 21:9 screen - barely noticeable. It also has the unintended consequence of making anti-aliasing less precise / effective in some cases.

I could see how the geometry change could impact click spots, especially if the click spots were unadjusted, or overly adjusted relative to the image adjustment due to a bug.

Thanks for the correction. I guess what I described is just a feature of sim's lighting engine.

That would be nice, if it's ready. Judging by many reactions I've seen, it could indeed be, or at least in the next couple of days. On the other hand, I'm in no rush if it isn't quite.

I fear that it's often the public outcry of "now, now, now" that pushes a publisher to keep saying, "We'll just get it out there and worry about it later".

OMG, thanks for that!  Clickspots are not misaligned when you turn off Lens Correction
