Completely unnecessary.  My AI was not even touched by the re-installation.

But yes it is one click. Don't know what you are doing wrong.

No it isn't. Even if you select every airline and click OCI Bulk it will stop countless times because it can't download the file itself and you must download the file semi-manually and then select it in the download location for the automated service to continue. Leading you to Russian Avsim or peoples drop box's that may or may no longer exist where you need to translate the page to see what's what. It's not even close to one click and you can't select all and leave it do its thing for the DAY because of these shortcomings you need to be right next to the PC watching it the whole time. And that is why it took me most of the week because unless I was willing to sit here doing that all day there was no other option.

It may be easier than extracting every zip yourself and editing files. Of course it is, much easier, but this nonsesne about it being one click is farcical. It's nothing of the kind. It's a time consuming boring process that only the nerdiest of nerd dweebs like you or I are willing to put up with and if you want all the AI it takes a long time.

Having now installed the hotfix my TrackIR has ceased working. Surprise surprise. Simconnect appears installed so no I'm at a loss.

EDIT: I forgot how finicky P3D seems to be about running TrackIR with Admin Privileges. 🙄

Ray.  Just curious.  Why are you uninstalling the three components then the academic.  Why not just uninstall the academic then reinstall the new academic?

The instructions from LM say to uninstall the Client first. Then the other components. Strictly speaking it wasn’t necessary to uninstall Content but as I’d downloaded the full installer it was the easiest option.

Having never uninstalled the Academic first I was reluctant to go down that path. The uninstalls only take a few seconds anyway.

OCI probably refers to installing a single airline. Everything is done for you whereas doing it manually would be a severe pain in the wotsits.

There’s no obligation to install every airline and certainly no need to do lots at a time. Just do the major airlines and add others as and when you have the time and inclination.

AIG is developed and maintained by true enthusiasts and beats the commercial alternatives with ease. The downside is a more laborious install compared to a setup.exe.

For freeware it is exceptional.

Of course it does but who is installing a single airline? And even then it's not true because so many of them still don't install on their own. Calling it a one click installer is misleading at best and a bit disingenuous at worst and the reason for claiming it escapes me. Obviously no bad intention is meant by naming it but it's not one click and that is a fundamental and observable reality. I really like the AI, AI is important to me so I'm very happy it exists but I will not pretend that something is something it isn't like some seem to for reasons utterly beyond my comprehension. Call it easy or easy-er installer or something 😄

Anyway, OCI/Easy-Er AI Installer for the Nerdiest of Nerd Dweebs is not what this thread is about.....😆

Agreed. We're off-topic so if you feel so strongly about a name take it up on the AIG forum.

OK I am not going into semantics of what is easy or not but this may help you, on the download screen where you choose the airlines, tick "skip manual download". I have just done a random download of 6 completely, to me, unknown airlines and it finished with no intervention. You may or may not get perfect results but at least you can leave your PC to get on with it unattended.

I installed the complete lot but I had to intervene now and then where I was asked to manually download and install this and that. So, you can't run (or I least I couldn't run) it unattended. And the whole process took roughly 7 hrs, give or take 2, I don't recall exactly.

While I am quite pleased with the result (up to the fact GA are missing), I certainly dislike the installation routine. Others may or may not agree.

I did this for MSFS only anyway. For Prepar3d, I still prefer my trusted UTLife, which very unfortunately came to a dead end now.

Kind regards, Michael

Yes, I appreciate that, Ian and thank you for pointing it out because I do miss much these days and am grateful for any pointers but if I do that it just doesn't install them, does it?

Simple Question.  Simply uninstall Client and Scenery and reinstall Client and Scenery from the update?

Some of the chaps helped me with this earlier and that does indeed seem to be all that's required. But uninstall and reinstall the client first and then uninstall and reinstall the scenery which is what the Lockheed directions are.

Well,  after a day with HF1...(and discounting the always-lights-on bug that a new Client will take care of...it has been a great experience on my system. I will say though, that I 'believe' as I don't, or can't know for sure, is that one of the reasons that the road traffic now 'works'...and doesn't kill off FPS, is (I believe.)  that they toned down the slider...for where I had TONS of cars and other vehicles on all the roadways, when I did try to use the ON ALL ROADS,  I now see hardly any. In fact, I usually run at 20 percent but had to boost that to 25 on the slider bar to start to see some traffic. So...did they radically scale back the generation of A.I. on this slider bar?   Dunno...but to my viewing of HF1..it seems so to me.

Anybody else seem to have less traffic for any given percentage on the Slide Bar?  Just wondering...

But, other than that...really great FPS and stutter free performance, and I could even put Scenery Complexity from the one left of full, to now the full right position and still keep stutter free and only a slight fluctuation of about three (3) FPS up and down, from my locked 33 FPS.   So.....a great 'fix' HF for myself and my modest system spec's.

Post Edit:  BTW, before anybody asks...if anybody would (smile),  is that I did a complete 4 component uninstall of the original v5.3 but kept my registration when uninstalling the Client.  I then used the FULL download's SET UP, under ADMIN rights...and did the HF1 install.  No problems...there.  Went to Orbx Central and used Verify Files on all my Global content, then did a Sync to Simulator.  Then...went to my GSX Updater and did that. Finally, went into my GSX Control Panel and had GSX disable Default Jetways.   After all that...am having a great go of P3D v5.3 HF1.

Have to end my flight session tonight...but just wanted to say again, that so far, this has been the best running P3D for me, of them all....(on my system).  I was flying around Refuge Cove in the PNW, and was great to see all the island roads covered by traffic. I now have TRAFFIC set to ALL ROADS and at 25 percent, and it has absolutely no impact at all now, on FPS in general.   Just great stuff...and am going to really enjoy all my Orbx and other content running just fine and rendering the same in HF1.   It's going to be a good time over the holidays, using P3D!

Cheers,

Ses

Am i hearing right that there is another Hotfix to follow the Hotfix that just released?

Something to do with runway and taxiway lights constantly on? If so i will probably just wait for that.

I will also wait.
