First run was a bust...Shaders compiled...had me set to my Sea Base...and then the Loading Sea and Land Traffic screen came up...sat at 2 percent, and that was that....   Now going over what could have caused that. Always something....sigh...

Post Edit:  WOW...now all is good...and the FPS performance wit HF1 is spectacular!  I even cranked the top Scenery Complexity to full right, and only fluctuate from my locked 33 FPS, about 1-3 FPS...but they fluctuate (not drop down to) and no stutter or delay as in v5.3 (non HF1).  Excellent results, am really enjoying the sim now...out over the Keys...and lovin' it!

Ah yes, the nuclear option. I won’t be bothering with that one. I made that mistake with v4 and it took ages to get my scenery.cfg back to its correct state.

Lorby-SI P3D addon organizer takes care of this. Press the backup button in the freeware tool before uninstalling your current version of P3D, and it takes a snapshot of *all* the key files of P3D, no matter the installation location.

Then after the new version is installed, open the backed up files using anything other than WinZip, e.g. 7-zip. All your generated files from the previous install (and more) are available for you to use as you see fit.

AMD Ryzen 5800X3D; MSI RTX 3080 Ti ; 32GB Corsair 3200 MHz; ASUS VG35VQ 35" (3440 x 1440)
Fulcrum One yoke; Thrustmaster TCA Captain Pack Airbus edition; MFG Crosswind rudder pedals; miniCockpit FCU; CPFlight MCP 737; Logitech FIP x3; TrackIR

MSFS; Fenix A320; A2A PA-24; HPG H145; PMDG 737-600; AIG; RealTraffic; PSXTraffic; FSiPanel; REX AccuSeason Adv; FSDT GSX Pro; FS2Crew RAAS Pro; FS-ATC Chatter

My one problem with my first run of a locked sim, is now corrected...and having fabulous results, great FPS,  even cranked to Max Scenery Complexity...and a fluctuation of only 3 FPS,  but not a total drop down...just great visuals...very happy!

Did a complete  4 component uninstall of the non HF1,  and then did a SET UP install of HF1.   Great results...

I have it and have made a backup but I fail to understand why it’s necessary to purge all the critical P3D files for a point update or hotfix. This is just LM covering their backsides.

When I updated to 5.3 I didn’t touch any of those files and everything worked fine. I’ll be repeating that procedure for this hotfix.

As I just got home from my 4 hour procedure and 7 hours in hospital with strict orders to take it easy the next few days this sounds like the ideal time to FINALLY move to 5.3 from 4.5 🙂

Any word on the PMDG birds and QW 787 with the HF?

Great news indeed!

@Ray Proudfoot any chance this could resolve the device hung issues as well?  Fingers crossed.

i have a brand new clean Win10 install on a new M.2, sounds ideal for this.

Have a Wonderful Day

PMDG never locks their aircraft to a specific .x version. They function as advertised, including in v5.3 HF1

They said to run the "Delete Generated Files" shortcut, I rather not do that because last time I did it wiped out add on sceneries I had. I rather delete the necessary files by hand. Does anyone know what files would need to be deleted?

I see no need to update Content. Will do Client and scenery I reckon.

Nice to fly into and out of KMCO again.

Stan

If only they could fix the green stutter bar issue too.

Just uninstall and reinstall, without deleting any files. If you get problems, you can still delete some files afterwards. Mostly, you won't have a problem if you didn't have problems with the version before.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Paul. I have left the Registry entries alone and remain with 471.96 with EA=Off. No DXGI errors at all except when adjusting a visibility slider in ASP3D. None when flying.

LM have not mentioned DXGI issues at all. I’ll be updating to 5.3HF1 this morning.
