The Photogenic Aircraft

Featured Replies

I usually post a screen shot about once a week to the Facebook User Group Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 ( Asobo). When I do this, and I have done it with the Mooney, the DC6, the Seminole, The Piper Arrow, I get anywhere between 3 and around 10 likes at the most from forum members. The other day I posted a screen shot of the Kodiak 100 flying at cruise in Papua New Guinea. I just looked now and I have over 130 Likes for the photo, and almost two dozen comments about what a great Aircraft this is, for MSFS.

I noticed on the checklist I have that it says that right before touchdown, you should retract flaps from full to 20 degrees. I wonder what is the purpose of that?

And it looks so much better than the Porter we are forced to stare at during program intro..

Hmmmm.  Maybe a misprint?  On the Kodiak official videos they say landing is with full flaps.  I could see retracting them upon touchdown for better braking.

Or maybe it's a kodiakism lol

You can remove that image or replace it with an image of your choice. I did.

When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

All aircraft are photogenic except for the Porter.

Ugly box of pig iron that looks like the product of the post-apocolypic hellscape of Mad Max. So ugly it's offensive.

I've given myself hives just thinking about it.

I had a Kodiak in p3d an in x plane.  Useful aircraft to have in the hanger but I do not think I need to buy another.

I watched a video by this morning with the kodiak Rep pilot and he stated that landings should be made with full flaps, 35 degrees, so the checklist I got is incorrect.

One fine shot with your Kodiak Sir !! .

I avert my gaze when it displays and am holding out to the next SU when hopefully it will go bye bye forever!

I think it shows the pent up demand for high quality, complex aircraft.

Nice pic btw👍
